Area individuals shine at state gymnastics meet

Erin Delahunty, Brecksville

Brecksville is known for its team dominance in high school gymnastics. The Bees didn't do anything to harm that reputation in the individual competition at the state meet Saturday.

Erin Delahunty (37.500) and Gianna Ravagnani (37.425) finished third and fourth, respectively, in the all-around competition. Ravagnani was first in the floor exercise (9.525) and tied for first with Delahunty in the vault (9.625).

Reagan Ernst of Dublin Jerome won the all-around title with a score of 37.600.

Delahunty finished in the top seven in each of the four individual events and Ravagnani added a tie for 9th on the bars. Joining Delahunty and Ravagnani in the all-around for Brecksville were Jenna Bandsuh (7th, 36.450) and Ella Shaheen (21st, 35.575).

Jensen Heppner, Wadsworth

Ava Guistino of Hudson and Hannah Salgado of Aurora tied for fifth in the all-around with a score 36.625. Wadsworth's Jenna Heppner was ninth (36.725), followed by Collen Johnson of Medina (13th, 36.050), Laurel Gomersal of Hudson (tied for 14th, 35.950), Samantha Tokor of Stow (21st, 35.575) and Lindsey Havens of Hudson (22nd, 35.550).

Jackson's Kiara Hockman was third in the balance beam (9.350), second in the floor exercise (9.5) and tied for 16th in the vault (9.225).

Perry's McKenna Shane and Green's Eva Burdeshaw tied for fourth on the bars (9.2)

Salgado posted top-10 finishes on the beam (tied for 8th, 9.2) and vault (tied for 8th, 9.325) and was 18th on the bars (8.975).

Lindsey Havens, Hudson

Bandsuh was top-15 on the bars and beam, Havens was 30th on the beam and tied for 18th on the vault, Shaheen was eighth on the floor and tied for 18th on the vault, Guistano was tied for 10th on the floor and tied for 27th on the vault, Johnson was tied for 19th on the floor and tied for eighth on the vault, Gomersal was tied for 25th on the vualt and Heppner was 21st on the bars.

Hannah Salgado, Aurora

Medina's Madison Lee tied for seventh on beam, Highland's Ava Noonan tied for 11th on the beam, Brecksville's Lindsay Kern tied for fourth on the floor, Medina's Maddy Todorovich was 22nd on the beam and tied for 19th on the floor, Hudson's Lydia Redd tied for 21st on the floor and was 35th on the bars, Stow's Kristen Corrine tied for 29th on the floor and Brecksville's Rachel Kelly tied for 15th on the bars.
