11 a-side friendly

Today we welcomed Cornard Dynamos to the Kings Marsh stadium, and with both teams having a full quota of players, we decided to mix it up and play 11 a-side.

Sudbury decided to go for a classic 4-4-2 formation to ensure they were solid at the back and still had an attacking outlet.

Both teams were playing some nice football and it was end to end football.

Cornard played the ball forward with Brooke returning it over the top of the defence which Jack ran onto and looped it over the on rushing goalkeeper to score his 17th goal of the season.

The game continued in the same way for the remainder of the first half. Just before half time, Cornard took a free kick which seemed destined to go in, only for Otto to somehow get across and tip it round the post.

Second half was almost a carbon copy of the first, with Cornard keeper pulling off some fantastic saves.

The moment of the game came when Ollie took a quick throw on the right to release Max. He got his head up and whipped in a lovely cross for the on rushing Otto to get on the end of it and score his first goal of the season.

Man Of The Match today was awarded to the player who played both up front and at left back. In the first half he was looking to control and bring his team mates in by leading from the front. Then in the second half he dropped into left back and put in a solid calm performance. Well done Sasha.

Special mention goes to our newest members of the 50 club, Thomas and Sam. Well done boys.
