Sean Parker calls Facebook film 'fiction'
Former Facebook president Sean Parker enjoyed the film The Social Network, in which he is played by Justin Timberlake, but called the plot "complete fiction".
The award-winning film depicts Parker as a hard-partying, Machiavellian character who impresses the company's young founder, Mark Zuckerberg, by dating Victoria's Secret models and partying hard. His character is eventually arrested for cocaine possession at a party to celebrate Facebook's millionth member.
"It's a complete work of fiction," Parker said.
"I kind of wish my life were that cool."
"There are no Victoria's Secret models in Silicon Valley," he added.
Parker co-founded peer-to-peer music-sharing service Napster - which was eventually closed down by court order - online address book Plaxo and Facebook activism platform Causes.
He is now a managing partner of San Francisco venture-capital firm The Founders Fund.
The Social Network is tipped to figure prominently when Oscar nominations are announced in Los Angeles on Wednesday.
