Captain’s Day 2023

The Club Captain is thrilled to share the fantastic news that our recent Captain’s Day fundraising event at Woodingdean Bowls Club was a resounding success! Thanks to the incredible support of our members, we’ve raised an impressive £704, which will be going towards the Chestnut Tree Children’s Hospice.

Chestnut Tree has been the charity we’ve supported for a while now. Last year, in total, we raised £900. We’re hoping to surpass that this year, aiming at £1000.

Nick would like to thank everyone involved with the event, organisers, volunteers and members alike.

UPDATE – 10th August 2023: The total now stands at £945.

On Thursday, 1st June, the final of the Jubilee Shield was held, between Trevor Smith and Ken Ross, with Trevor emerging as victor.

Congratulations to them both, for reaching the final. Also thanks to Dave Nevell (marker) and to Robert (president) for the presentations.

Open Day

On Saturday, 22nd April, we had our open day, where we invited anyone who was interested, to come and try bowls.

The weather gods were kind that we had an amazing turnout, with many expressing their interest to continue and come along to the coaching sessions.
