Dartfordians RFC triumphant at Kent Golf Day

Kent rugby club golf 2018

Kent Rugby Clubs Golf Day 2018.

THE RECENT Kent Rugby Clubs Golf day itself was very well supported with 30 four-ball teams playing in a Stableford competition with the best two scores to count. Following a shotgun start at 9am, everyone was back off the course by 2pm to enjoy an excellent curry lunch and entertaining auction run by Adger Brown.

This year was the 10th anniversary of the golf day and we were delighted to congratulate a new winner with Dartfordians RFC coming in at 96 points, Sheppey FC ‘Vets finished in 2nd place with 94 points and Westcombe Park RFC in 3rd place with 93 points. These three teams qualified for the Rugby Club Golf Challenge, National Final which is being hosted by Wooden Spoon Sussex at Ifield Golf & Country Club on Thursday 27 September 2018. They will be joined by Cranbrook RFC ‘2’ who finished with 89 points in 4th place on count back.

During the celebratory lunch we were delighted to receive a cheque from Vigo RFC’s President, Stewart Turner. Vigo is a partner club and last season they had a VP’s lunch and raised money for Wooden Spoon Kent.

Our sincere thanks go to everyone on the day and to the clubs who supported the golf day and helped to raise approximately £8,000 for Wooden Spoon Kent. The tournament will return to Knole Park Golf Club on Friday 23 August 2019.
