Ray’s double, combined with goals from Andy Smith and Chris Fifield clinched a 4-1 win over the league’s bottom side.
SONNING stay fourth, two places above Berks, thanks to a 3-2 win at Tring.
Noel Plant and Jonathan Sharp found the net for Sonning as well as James Manser, who is the league’s top scorer on 16 goals.
In Division 1, SONNING 2s drew 3-3 with league leaders Phoenix and Ranelagh.
Mark Cooke, Felix Freeston and David Painter scored for the hosts, who stay eighth.
Goals from Paul Kaplanski and Desmond Sanders were not enough for SOUTH BERKSHIRE 2s to avoid a 6-2 defeat at Eastcote 3s in Division 2.
SOUTH BERKSHIRE 3s also lost in a 15-goal thriller with Leighton Buzzard in Division 3.
Duncan Clarke (2), Max Harrall, Tom Pullen (3) and Ben Stafford scored in vain for Berks as they were beaten 8-7.
In the same league, winless SONNING 3s were hammered 12-0 at Banbury 3s down in no small part to five goals from Dave Clark.
In Division 5, SONNING 4s picked up just a second win of the season with a thumping 6-1 success against Oxford 5s.
The win lifts Sonning off the foot of the table thanks to goals from Eddie Butler, Dave Hendricks, Matt Hopper, Antony Matheson, Neil Pipe and Grant Strudley.
Lower down the leagues, SOUTH BERKSHIRE TERRIERS picked up a win while SONNING 6s drew against Leighton Buzzard Fledglings.
In the women’s leagues, SONNING LADIES had a mixed weekend.
Battling relegation in South Clubs’ Women’s Division 3A, Sonning picked up a much-needed victory on Saturday with a 2-1 win at Wycombe.
But goals from Missy Gresophon and Claire Devereux earned Eastcote Ladies a 2-0 win at Sonning Lane on Sunday to leave Sonning second-bottom.
SONNING 2s slipped to seventh in Trysports Premier 1 after a 2-1 loss to Amersham and Chalfont after goals from Emma Hewitt and Jess Reus.
SOUTH BERKSHIRE LADIES stay fourth following a 2-2 draw against Maidenhead 2s.
