The achievement of the DYK Swimming & Diving Club in Turkey, the special training of the French U24 women’s team, and the regional championships of Île-de-France for all youth categories. 

Then, heading to the British women’s national championship, an overview of the youth
championship in the Netherlands. Followed by the Orange County Cup in the United States.

The DYK Yüzme & Sualtı Club achieves a flawless performance and emerges victorious in Turkey.

This past weekend from March 7th to 10th, the Turkish Youth Championship was organized. The championship brought together 30 teams from 25 clubs which competed for the title of Turkish champion. The tournament hosted the U15 and U19 categories for both females and males.  Leading the tournament, the DYK Yüzme & Sualtı club, achieved a remarkable
feat by winning in each category to get 4 trophies

From the all-female training camp organized in Rennes to the Regional Championships for youth in the Benjamin-Cadet categories, we bring you all the latest news on French underwater hockey.

What better for the French U24 women’s selection than to benefit from the experience of the French Elite women’s team during a weekend of training combining hockey and CrossFit. An athletic and tactical preparation for the French U24 women’s team, which will go, in July 2024 to represent the French flag, at the Youth World Championship in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia.

This Sunday in Ermont, the Île-de-France Regional Championship took place, bringing together all youth categories. Lagny dominated the championship and came very close to a remarkable achievement with 3 first places out of 4 categories! In the U11, Lagny emerged victorious in the final against Pontoise and took home the gold medal. Pontoise secured the silver medal by finishing 2nd in the U11 category, followed by the team from Le Chesnay-Clamart, which took home the bronze medal. For the U13 category, Pontoise placed 3rd, while Le Chesnay took 2nd. Lagny once again claimed the top spot in the youth regional championship. Now, let’s move on to the podium of the 15 category, with the team from Neuilly-sur-Marne taking the top spot by defeating the teams from Fontenay-Trésigny and Lagny-Ermont. In the U17 category, Lagny achieved a hat trick and left with a beautiful gold medal, followed by Le Chesnay-Clamart with a silver medal, and Fontenay taking the bronze, finishing 3rd.

Let’s move right on to the Women’s Nationals 2024, which took place this weekend among our British friends.

The competition took place in Leeds, with a total of 160 players! The tournament was divided into 2 divisions, with the London Ladies taking the top spot in the 1st division. They retained their national champion title by winning 6-0 in the final against the Yorkshire Ladies, who took home the silver medal. The bronze medal went to the Southsea Ladies. In the second division, the Plymouth Ladies team won the gold medal, followed by the Orkney team in second place, and the Islington team securing the third position.

Netherlands, the Youth Championship Continues Its Journey
 
This Sunday, the third round of the 2023-2024 youth championship took place in the Netherlands, a championship that started in November 2023 and will finish in June 2024 with a total of 5 rounds. The Argonauta team won the third day of the championship with 4 victories, followed by Njord 1 and Watervrienden, who finished 2nd with 3 victories each. Pukbijters and Pukbijters/OSCD also ended up tied with 2 matches won.

 

The American Innovation

The weekend of March 9th and 10th also marked the first edition of the Orange County Cup, held at the William Woollett Jr. Aquatics Center in California. This competition was organized by the Orange County Octopush. On the podium, three teams tied with 24 points. The gold medal went to the San Diego Sea Dragons, who won 2-1 in the final against Tahoe Ice, who finished 2nd in the tournament. In third place, we find Tahoe Fire, who won 4-1 against OC Octopush.
