Please help by sharing this post to spread the word
Hi connections, I’ve encountered some challenges lately, which has been getting me down and effecting my positive outlook. One particular hurdle has been navigating interactions with recruiters. I extend my apologies to those recruiters who genuinely assist. For context, I’m currently seeking to transition from my families gymnastics business which me and my amazing wife started 12 half years ago in a school library with 20 children and to date we have over 500 children that attend week in week out in our own purpose gymnastics centre which is over 12,000sq ft over 2 floors and i have been working intermittently as a fire door surveyor, a role I’m fully qualified in, alongside my credentials as a carpenter and joiner. I’m also in the final stages of obtaining my fire stopping compartmentation qualification, further enriching my expertise. Recruiters often engage me, inquire about my experiences, request references, and propose suitable roles. Despite my commitment and availability, I’ve experienced delays and lack of follow-up, leading to frustration. Preferring to take control of my destiny, I’ve decided to pursue my own path and endeavors. I intend to establish myself as a fire door surveyor, serving clients at local, regional, and national levels, including housing associations, hoteliers, B&B guest houses, private landlords, and more. I will guide them through legal requirements and responsibilities, advising on remedial action when necessary. Additionally, I have a trusted friend who can provide fire risk assessments and fire strategies, ensuring full compliance with fire safety and health regulations, thus safeguarding businesses, employees, customers, and tenants. This morning I decided to get myself out of my rut and get myself on my bike as it’s been over 2 years since I last rode on the road, It was a reflective bike ride through the Lincolnshire Wolds, which provided clarity and helped me refocus and I managed a steady 20 miles under my own steam while getting an endorphin hit. Embracing this renewed perspective, I’m eager to reignite my passion for cycling, knowing its positive impact on my mental and physical well-being. This, in turn, will enable me to deliver exceptional service in the field of Fire Door Surveying, drawing upon the array of skills acquired throughout my career—from carpentry and joinery to customer service. I deeply appreciate any support in spreading the word about my new career path.
