Rowing

Club Sport

SURC is a friendly, competitive club, for everyone, whether you have never been in a boat before or have rowed for years. Rowing is a fantastic, fun way to stay fit, make friends and do something different!

SQUADS

SENIOR SQUADS: If you have rowing experience (>1 year), you can join our Senior Squads, inclusive of all levels and commitment.  Our captains will welcome you into the squads and get you out on the water as soon as possible.

NOVICE SQUADS: We take on novices (with no previous experience) at the start of the year. The next trials will be held during the first and second weeks of teaching this Autumn 2024!

COX SQUAD: Throughout the year, we're recruiting beginner and experienced coxes. If you fancy taking charge, steering, and being an integral part of the club, then this is right up your street.

ROWFIT: weekly indoor fitness sessions on our rowing machines. Held at Goodwin Sports Centre (Training Room) on Wednesdays from 5-6pm. You can pay per session or buy a whole year membership which gives access to our club socials too!

Great for beginners, for fitness, or just for fun! To join purchase RowFit membership online + follow our Instagram for updates.

Committee

All of our clubs and societies are run by a committee.

A committee is a team of people that lead, organise and publicise a group within your Students' Union.

It can be really rewarding as well as being a great way to gain experience and invaluable skills for your future career.
