2023 Finals Day

This weekend (2-3rd September 2023) was the club’s Finals event when all the knockout competitions held throughout the season came to their conclusion. The weather was kind, there were some really close games and everyone enjoyed themselves.

QUENDON GALA DAY 30th July 2023

Three teams went to Quensdon Bowls clubs Gala Day on Sunday 30th July – it was a really good day (despite the rain in the afternoon)!

As the Chairmen of Quendon commented to me “What I myself noticed was so many people laughing and joking with members from other clubs that they play against and we were lucky that guests from other clubs just turned up to enjoy the day and catch up with past associates from the bowls community.”.

Bengeo Friendly 23-7-23

It was great to welcome our friends from Bengeo B.C on Sunday – a well fought match ensued and we came out winners on all rinks – we look forward to the return fixture next year.

Lankester Cup report

Sunday 15th July was a great day for the 16 players contesting the Lankester Cup, our annual Pairs competition for the Frank LAnkester trophy. A closely fought final between Dave Blakes & Gerry Gomez versus Fraser Beard and Trevor Pointer saw Fraser and Trevor win on the last end 11 – 8. Well done to all teams.

Hoddesdon & Rye Park Friendly – 24th June 2023

It was a great afternoon visiting our friends at Rye Park – 3 matches, one Standon win and two losses, but the sun shone and the hospitality was great. We go back on Tuesday for a league match!!!

Sawbridgeworth Friendly 18th June

Even though the heavens opened and the lightning struck, the afternoon was a great success and everyone enjoyed a really competitive game of bowls – Thanks to all the players who took part
