Mission Bowling Club Strikes New Direction In 2013

Mission Bowling Club partners, Anthony Myint, Molly Bradshaw and Sommer Peterson, will usher in the new year with a new direction in the kitchen. With a goal of "establishing MBC as a dining destination," the restaurant portion of the business will now be called "The Dining Room At MBC." Myint has promoted Chris Kiyuna to executive chef. Kiyuna already has a great understanding of the concept, having helped establish the menus at MBC since day one. Before that, he worked in the kitchens at Coi and The Front Porch. The Mission Burger obviously isn't going anywhere, but the rest of the menu will get a touch fancier, albiet with a "refined, casual approach." Think root beer glazed duck breast and Dungeness suimono.

Your first chance to experience it all happens in 10 days on New Year's Eve. Kiyuna will do a four-course, $50 menu with seatings from 5:30 to 9 p.m (reserve here.) From 9:30 p.m. until 1 a.m. they'll throw a ticketed "Bowl in the New Year" party with open bowling, a photo booth, a raffle, and a dance party. Price of admission is $85 and includes hors d'eourves, two drinks and a champagne toast at midnight. More details and tickets are available right this way.

By the time Mission Bowling Club turns one year old, in March of next year, the new menu should be firmly in place.
