On Tuesday the Stuart Duncan Memorial 5k Race returned to Glenrothes with success once again for PH Racing Club athletes. The out and back route along the Böblingen Way has proved a happy hunting ground for the club in the past and it was no different this year.

In winning the women’s race Julie Menzies lead home a PH female contingent which filled the top four positions in the race. Menzies’ time of 18:56 was her first under 19 minutes and she was followed home by Mary Western (20:32) and Emma Lessels (21:01), who just edged out mum, Louise (21:15).

The PH juniors were to the fore in the men’s race with Jamie Lessels finishing in second place, running a season’s best time of 16:52. Aaron Bennet placed fourth in 17:22, just ahead of clubmate James Adam, fifth in 17:26.

There was also success in the MV50 category where the two Marks, McLean and Western, took the top 2 spots, timing at 18:26 and 19:35 respectively. Ed Norton had to settle for second place in the MV60 category with his time of 20:47 while Gordon Coull ran a new personal best time of 19:26.

Well done to all and thanks to the family of Stuart Duncan and Fife AC for putting on another excellent race. Thanks also to Gordon Donnachie for another set of superb photos.
