COACHES

MATT REDGRAVE

A FA Youth Award and UEFA B qualified coach, with a rich history in both playing and coaching. Formerly a player and coach for Colchester United, he also took his talents to the USA, where he played for the number one ranked collegiate team. Matt’s coaching expertise extends to top-tier clubs like LA Galaxy, Chicago Fire, and Houston Dynamo. His dedication to the sport and impressive credentials make him a standout figure in the world of football.

CARLOS EDWARDS

Carlos is a UEFA B qualified coach, who has a wealth of football experience. Carlos previously played professionally, for Ipswich Town, Sunderland, Luton Town and Millwall amongst others and represented Trinidad and Tobago in the 2006 world cup in Germany and continues to play football for Bury Town.

Carlos has previously coached within Ipswich Town’s Elite training programme and currently coaches within the Bury Town senior teams.

Jason Day

Jason has been fully immersed in the local football scene for several years. He currently holds the position of Bury Town Football Club Youth Secretary and is responsible for all the U6-U18 players, as well as two disability teams, the ladies team and men’s teams. He is the Co Founder of MatchDay, which was set up in 2019.  Jason currently coaches the Bury Town U11 girl’s team and he previously held the position of Centre Manager and Coach for the Ipswich Town Elite Player Development Centre and lead coach of the Orange Soccer Academy.

TONY ASHBY

Tony is a UEFA A licence coach and has played an integral part in the development and progression of youth players for over 30 years and brings a wealth of expertise and experience to the programme. He has previously held the position of Football Operations Director and Academy manager at Colchester United football club and worked for Ipswich Town in their academy programme, coaching a variety of ages as lead coach.

MARK ARNOLD

 Mark is a vastly experienced youth football coach. He’s spent the past 13 years coaching all age groups from U7-U18 at Cornard Dynamos. Mark holds a UEFA B license and full FA Youth award. He’s previously coached at both Ipswich Town and Colchester Utd Elite programmes and Ipswich Town Academy. As well as leading AFC Sudbury U14 in the Eastern Junior Alliance, Mark is also the current U14 County Schoolboy manager for Suffolk.

DARREN MOYES

 Darren founded GK, a specialist Goalkeeping Coaching Company in October 2019 and is currently goalkeeper coach for Long Melford Football Club. Darren’s previous playing career boasts a number of local football clubs, these include Sudbury Town, Leiston FC and Brightlingsea Regent amongst others. Darren is a progressive and innovative coach, who is excited to coach within the Pumateamwear Performance Pathway programme.

PAUL LAND

 Paul is a consciences and proficient football industry professional with over ten years’ experience across two continents, being a part in developing many programmes and players from grassroots clubs to professional academies. Paul has worked with all types of players, people from different cultures and backgrounds aged 2 – 23 years old. Over the past five years, Paul has been a part of Swansea City AFC’s Academy coaching setup, leading age groups within the foundation and youth development phase. Developing players to fulfil their potential as future professional footballers and represent their country as current youth internationals. Most recently, employed as Swansea City AFC’s Head of Education, understanding the importance of developing and supporting young people to strive within demanding environments. Paul graduated from the University of South Wales with a First-Class BSc (Hons) in Football Coaching and Performance 2019, Outstanding Student of the Year Award 2019, PGCE PcET 2020 and currently holds the UEFA A & Elite Youth A Licence.

ALAN LEE

 Alan is an ex-professional footballer, who has played for a variety of football clubs, including Ipswich Town, Norwich City, Cardiff and Huddersfield Town and was a full Republic of Ireland international. He currently holds positions as the head of football at both Culford school and Bury Town football club and has played an integral role in the progression of the Bury Town youth system on and off the pitch. Alan is excited to transfer his knowledge to the players on the Puma teamwear Performance Pathway programme and for each player to progress and enjoy their football.
