Goodwell, Okla.— The Panhandle State cheer team is set to host their annual Little Aggies Cheer Camp on Friday, Oct. 19, in conjunction with the Aggie Football matchup against Arizona Christian University on Saturday, Oct. 20.

This year, the age groups have been expanded to include cheerleaders from Pre-K to Grade-12 to promote the embracement of all cheer abilities. Head Coach Alyssa Freeman is looking forward to the inclusion of a wider-ranging group saying, "This year we wanted to expand the age groups so we can teach all young, future cheerleaders the proper ways to cheer in a fun and exciting environment."

A clinic will be held on Oct.19, the eve of the Aggie football game in the OPSU campus' Noble Activity Center. The clinic will be hosted by Coach Freeman and members of the Aggie cheer team and will teach the participants a cheer and short dance routine. The clinic will be split into two time frames, with the Pre-K through Grade-5 group taking part from 5-6 p.m., and the Grades 6-12 group following from 6:30-8 p.m. The clinic will be an all-encompassing learning experience, says Coach Freeman; "We will teach jumping and stretching techniques, the proper ways to tumble, and how to stunt, cheer and perform in front of a crowd."

The following day on Oct. 20, the Aggie football team will take on the Arizona Christian University Firestorm at home in Anchor D Stadium at 2 p.m., and all cheerleaders will have a chance to perform during this exciting game day. The Pre-K through Grade-5 group will perform a pre-game routine on the field prior to kickoff. Grades 6-12 will perform a half time show and will also have the opportunity to cheer alongside the Aggie cheer team on the sidelines for the duration of the game.

The cost of the clinic is $35 per cheerleader, which includes a free Aggie Cheer Camp t-shirt. For more information and to register, please contact Head Coach Alyssa Freeman at alyssa.freeman@opsu.edu.
