Storm continued their run of form on Thursday 25th April with a brilliant 3-1 result and an impressive 44 points against 20 points for the Nottingham Riders. The games were played on tricky pistes in weather that felt more like the middle of December than the end of April making their win even more wonderful. This win takes Storm more than halfway up the league table so well done to all.

Despite the cold and bitter wind, the Buzzards maintained their great form on Thursday 25th April against the young team of Fledglings with a 3-1 win and 49 points to 32 points. The Fledglings played well but were just unable to keep their best boules on the cochette. The Buzzards are keeping their amazing second place in the league table with the Ruffs the only team to beat.

The Buzzards held Titchfield Outlaws to a 2 – 2 draw on Thursday 18th April, gaining the advantage with 43 points to 36 points to steal the aggregate and retain their second spot on the Leader Board. Well done yet again.

The Fledglings held the Kestrels to a 1 – 3 finish on Thursday 18th April with 38 points to 51, giving the Kestrels the advantage. They were hard fought games against a team towards the top of the table.

Nutbrook Storm are still ahead of last years results with another 2 – 2 draw on Thursday 18th April and are working hard to gain that elusive extra point. They have a great team spirit and will soon be storming ahead.

Congratulations to Val Kirk for winning April’s Club Lottery, a belated birthday present, too.

Jean Griffin came second in the Club Lottery and will be delighted to receive her winnings.

The Buzzards were off to a brilliant start, one team scoring a massive 5 points in their second end, the other scoring a quick 10 points against 2 before finally pinning down the elusive 2 points to gain the win. The final score of 3 wins to 1 and 47 points to 30 points puts the team right at the top of the Leader Board.

Nutbrook Storm faced a stern challenge in our first league match of the year on Thursday 11th April. It was against last year’s champions White Lion 5. The match was played at Ruddington on a very tricky piste. Well done to Peter and Maureen Bates, who won both their games. The match ended with a respectable draw at two games each and 31 points to 45 points.

The Fledglings rested in their nests with a bye but wait with renewed energy for their match against the Kestrels next week.
