Acer palmatum 'Ariadne'

Rare Ariadne Japanese Maple Tree

Zones 5-9

In Greek mythology, the goddess Ariadne was the mistress of the labyrinth. With Ariadne's reticulation, you will get lost in this maze of colors. Introduced by Esveld Nursery in Holland, ‘Ariadne’ was named after Cor's daughter. 'Ariadne' forms a beautiful mid-sized variegated tree. The growth habit is upright and generally grows up to about 8-10 ft over time.

This tree has an amazing color scheme that shows a wide array of brilliant colors delicately displayed over reticulated leaves. When the early buds first peek out in the spring ‘Ariadne’ has shades of deep burgundy. As the leaf opens up more it shows a bright yellow reticulated leaf with colorful red and pink tinges.

During the summer months, the yellow color of ‘Ariadne’ deepens to a maroon. This tree prefers filtered light for best coloration. ‘Ariadne’ turns up the brightness in any garden with a spectacular display of color that is bound to catch anyone’s attention.

Limited Quantities Available !! As we have over a thousand cultivars of Japanese maples, we often do not have many of each cultivar. We recommend that you buy the Japanese maples you want immediately as we often sell out of certain selections.

Ethereal Beauty

Pictures do not do this maple justice. The colors, texture, little serrated edges.. so beautiful. The light and airy look it creates is very much needed & priceless in the garden. We have our ‘Ariadne’ planted front & center with some dwarf white panicle hydrangeas(afternoon shade). The bold blooms of the hydrangeas with the ethereal look of this Japanese maple are mm-hmm : )

Colorful

I have two Ariadne maples and I love the color changes and the light airy look. I have them in large pots and they are gorgeous.
