The Hairy Bikers’ Si King and Dave Myers’ new book has ‘finally’ arrived following the latter’s cancer treatment.
In May last year Dave, 65, broke the news he was being treated for cancer, and joked he would be a ‘baldy biker’ for a while.
Months later he claimed to be ‘kind of doing alright’, although treatment was still ‘ongoing’, and he welcomed in 2023 by saying cancer was ‘something one learns to live with’.
Just last month the Geordie biker and beloved foodie divulged details of his ‘brutal’ chemotherapy treatment, as he revealed he’d lost ‘so much weight’ and struggled with losing his appetite and only being able to manage a can of soup.
He also revealed he had to ‘learn to walk again properly’ after chemotherapy affected his balance, which he reflected was a ‘disaster for a biker’.
Work-wise, the duo’s BBC series Hairy Bikers Go Local, which was filmed when Dave wasn’t so ill, only aired for eight episodes in January.
But now, the pair are finally back working together and promoting their new book, Eat Well Every Day.
Si, 56, shared a video of himself opening a box of finished copies of the pair’s most recent book project, and said they’d ‘finally’ arrived.
Alongside the video of himself tearing into the box, in which he said it was a ‘special’ book, Si wrote: ‘It’s finally here everyone! 🤩 Our finished copies of Eat Well Every Day are here and don’t they look lovely? Filled with stuff you’d want to eat everyday of the week!
‘Pre-order your copy now, through the link in our bio, so it lands on your doorstep on publication day! Send us your pics with your copies, we’re so excited for you lot to have them as well!’
Fans were delighted at the announcement, as one wrote: ‘Husband’s birthday present sorted! Thank you you gorgeous chaps 😍.’
Another commented: ‘Brill love you guys and your books x’.
The book was particularly special for one follower, who wrote: ‘I pre-ordered my copy over the weekend for my Dad. He completed his Chemo and Radiotherapy at Christmas and has justed started eat again so thought this would be an ideal gift to get him feeling healthier and the love of cooking again.’ [sic]
This recent clip from Si came just after Dave also filmed himself ripping into a box of the finished copies too, in which his signature beard is seen growing back to its full glory.
One fan commented as much, when they wrote: ‘It’s great to see you looking so well. I will definitely be buying a copy. Xxxx’
