The world is an uncertain place, and there are times when you need to be careful. Unexpected circumstances can happen anytime; being prepared for such situations can help you avoid danger.

Effective Kicks for Defense

When you see someone approaching you to attack, you can use one of the kicks depending on the proximity.

  • Front Kick — Perfect if the person is a few feet away from you and approaching directly at you.
  • Side Kick — Should an attacker come by your side, you can catch them by surprise by throwing a side kick.

  • Wrist Escapes — A useful technique if your attacker holds you by your wrists. Different variations exist by rotating the hips to escape or grounding the attacker.

  • Choke Defence — Depending on the choke, the counter-attack can vary. Variations to loosen the choke and a kick to the groyne to escape are common techniques.

You’re usually in a vulnerable position when you find yourself on the ground. However, by learning how to roll and break fall, you can prevent yourself from further attacks. Once you get up safely, you can defend yourself with a grappling attack to knock the assailant.
