Following the appointment of Marc Gaubert as Director of Adult Rugby, Malvern RFC are pleased to announce our Adult Rugby coaching and management line-up for next season.
I’m sure you will join us in wishing them every success. Here’s some more info for you about our line-up:

Name: Ieuan Mustow
Position: Head Coach & Backs Coach

Bio:
Clubs played for: Croesyceiliog, Pontypool United, Worcester Uni, Malvern & Bromsgrove, Herefordshire & Worcestershire, North Midlands.

Main objectives for next season:
To win more games than we lose, but not if it comes at the cost of creating a good community of senior players. Would love to see us regularly field a 3rd XV.
___

Name: Tom Hale
Position: First Team Manager

Bio:
Tom has played at Malvern since he was 6 years old. He made his first team debut at 18 in the National Leagues with Andy Longley as DoR.
He is also very proud to have been club captain for a couple of seasons when MRFC won promotion and the North Mids Shield. Tom doesn’t like to talk about it but he was a prolific try scorer, with 48 tries in one season and was very key to MRFC success at the time. Quote from Tom; “I feel very fortunate to be involved in a non-playing capacity but do miss playing a little bit!”

Main objectives for next season:
To win more than we lose and aim for a top 5 finish.
Continue bringing through Malvern players from the Ian Budd Colts section.
___

Name: Emma Fosh
Position: Second Team Manager

Bio:
Malvern mixed and ladies Touch, Worcester Valkyries, Worcester Ladies, Oxford, and Portsmouth. Played in the Ladies Premiership.
Head of female rugby at Malvern RFC. RFU coaching award.

Main objectives for next season:
Aim is to get continuity amongst the second team whilst allowing the players to flourish. A top four finish in the league!
___

Name: John Clark
Position: Strength & Conditioning Coach & Set Piece Coach

Bio:
Rugby: Malvern, Harrogate, Worcester University with over 120 front row appearances for the Vern. Beyond rugby John excelled in strongman competitions; 2x Britain’s Natural Strongest Man and 2x Midlands Strongest Man. Also he has completed ridiculous endurance challenges: 48 marathons in 48 days and finisher of the Marathon des Sables to name a couple. As well as experience and a coaches eye to the set piece, John brings a decade of strength and conditioning experience to pre season as a gym owner, coach and former British strongman champion.

Main objectives for next season:
To ensure the lads are conditioned, strong, combative and organised ready for the season ahead (but to have enjoyed the process of getting there too).
___

Name: Morgan Monks
Position: Forwards Coach

Bio:
Morgan has been a professional rugby player for 4 years after being signed at the age of 18. Since then he has made premiership and European appearances totalling 11 games , with more appearances in the premiership cup for Worcester Warriors. He made his debut at 19 years old in Russia against Yenisey STM in the European cup. He has also been on loan to Hartpury, Ampthill and Moseley gaining plenty of championship experience.

Main objectives for next season:
'I am thrilled to be involved in an already exciting team! I would like to bring clarity in all set piece areas and install a physical mindset that makes other teams not want to play Malvern upfront. Aim for us to be the top forward pack in the league with success in all areas including set piece and breakdown work. We need to pride ourselves on the areas which don’t always require talent E.g. work rate and knowledge on individual areas on the pitch'
