I've been playing pickleball here for the last few months both in a league and by renting a court. I'm familiar with Wimbledon because my son is a tennis player and we've been here many times over the years. Most recently they put in 8 dedicated pickleball courts which is great for the pb community.
Pros:
PB courts are really nice.
Rental cost for 2 hours is $28, split between 4 people it's pretty reasonable, you have to call ahead to reserve.
Nice to have a place to do a ladder league.
They have demo paddles to try out.
Cons:
Ladder league was a bit disorganized, one of the members finally jumped in to help out.
Subs to our league have to pay to play, seems ridiculous since the spot has already been paid for.
Front desk is slow and payment process is a mess. The line to get in can get long while waiting for people to check in. I tried to pay ahead of time by calling ahead and they told me they couldn't do it.
They don't enforce the 'must wear a mask in the lobby rule'.
The open play they advertised before COVID shut it down was not true 'open play'. If you show up by yourself there is no organized way to get involved in a game. Their drill night also had the same problem. The guy running it said just show up and drill by yourself. That's laughable! A drill is supposed to be organized and run by a pro, not self directed if you're paying to do it.
Finally, their pickleball pro just left so it's unclear if they will hire another one or who will run the upcoming ladder leagues.Helpful 4Thanks 0Love this 3Oh no 0 - Gerard R.Dearborn, MI5993Sep 18, 2019
My fiancé got a college membership a week ago that was $120.00 that night the took the money. A couple days later she gets a bill for $180.00 witch it Wimbledon's individuals membership. The next day she talk to Kathy to find out why she got a bill for $180.00. KATHY told her she didn't qualify for the college membership because she was 27 years old. One week before my fiancé called the club to ask if her age would qualify for the college membership because she didn't want to go to the club and find out she couldn't get the membership. The Wimbledon employee had told her it wouldn't make a difference. So she joined the league. Even the night they took her money they didn't ask for her age or anything about college. NOTHING on the website says you need to be a certain age for the college membership! If there is an age restriction, you would think they would put it on the website! Or AT LEAST inform you employees that there is an age restriction! Another thing is why would you send a bill for $180.00? If you already took $120.00 why wouldn't you just send a bill for the $50.00? I would highly suggest going to Eastside Tennis and fitness or PeachTree tennis club!

Deb was initially nervous about taking lessons here but she has come to really love Wimbledon thanks to the kind staff, her coach (John), and the quality facility that this place is. Highly recommended for tennis pros and beginners alike.

A couple weeks ago I called the club to see if I was able to get the college membership; since I was on a permanent court time league and had to pick a membership. I called the club just to make sure it was okay to get the college one because of my age and whoever I spoke to, thought it was Jill, told me it was okay. Last Thursday I paid for the membership, there was a younger lady with blonde hair, and she didn't ask for my age or how many credits I'm taking at school. The beginning of this week, the club mailed me a bill saying I had a $180 amount due. I called Kathy the manager and she's was mad that her employee told me it was okay to get the college one. She talked to Drew, the club owner, and she told me they were not going to allow me to sign up for the college membership. I was very frustrated because pretty much it was because of my age; now I think that is age discrimination. There is no description for the college membership saying how old you have to be or you have to take so many credits. Kathy and Drew need to train their employees about the memberships. I also missed out on another clubs 10% off membership because I got the okay to get the college one here. I signed a contract at the club and you would think KATHY or DREW would look at it! This is the only club that charges you is have a credit or debit card. There is also no air conditioning. I really hope someone my age or in my situation will see this post and won't have to go through this. KATHY was so rude talking to me about this and didn't sound like she wanted to help out at all. All she kept saying on the phone was okay. I recommend Peachtree or Eastside Tennis Clubs!
