I've been at Ryoku for about 2 years now since I moved to Vegas. I am currently brown belt and trained at 4 dojos in LA. Ryoku is excellent. I am also currently a 2nd degree black belt in BJJ and Ryoku focuses on ground work quite a bit, especially compared to other Judo dojos I've trained at. The curriculum is very balanced. Tough guys and top notch, extremely technical instruction. Although a small dojo, the students compete and win quite a lot. I recommend for anyone interested in Judo/grappling martial arts.

This is truly one of the best judo clubs in the United States. As the past president of the US Judo Association, I have watched them continually evolve into the powerhouse they are today. They win at many local, regional,
and national events. Their Head Sensei is passionate about his students always striving to offer them the best opportunities to advanced their abilities. He is also devoted to teaching the life skills found in judo. Recently he hosted a clinic where he brought in two of the top women judo players in the world at the Olympic level.Helpful 1Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0 - Kris C.Las Vegas, NV04Mar 28, 2022
After taking my 8-year old son to a few trials at different martial arts schools, we came to Ryoku Judo Club. He had always been a bit squeamish about direct contact and grappling so I was curious how it would turn out. On the first day, he learned how to properly fall and how to execute one trip. During the one-week trial, he learned much more: throws, grips, footwork, sparring, groundwork. By the end of the week, he was hooked and he was excited to choose this school over the others. Flash forward months later, and he has become much more skilled and more sure of himself, both in Judo and in general. He has even competed in a tournament. As parents, we are very happy with our positive experience at the club. As for older kids and adults training here, they are the top club in town, often winning the tournaments and having elite guest teachers such as Olympic judokas visit to hold workshops. Sensei Sergio and Sensei Miguel are excellent teachers, great with kids, and foster a great sense of community at Ryoku Judo.

Awesome atmosphere. Everyone is very welcoming and professional. Highly decorated instructors to learn from. Newly renovated facility. Classes ranging from kids to adults. Definitely recommend giving this gym a try. It's the best cardio you'll ever experience. Don't wait, come down and give it a try. Go train!

Myself and our three kids, ages 12, 8 and 6 came to try it out. Our two older kids cried before just from being so nervous and anxious, but by the end of our 1st session, we fell in LOVE with Judo. Sensei Sergio and the other coaches have a traditional and disciplined way of teaching, but still know how to keep it fun and enjoyable. Our kids are doing awesome in training and not only can they now defend themselves, but they learn discipline, how to respect others and build confidence.

Ryoku judo club has helped my daughter turn into a strong confident young lady. Before she joined the club she first tried a soccer team then joined a dance team but we figured that it wasn't for her. So it has been 8 years now and she still loves judo. Sensei has never given up on her and always pushed but also motivates her to grow and learn more. Lots of attention for beginner students, many assistants for the children.
