I am in no way qualified to judge this since this is my first time. It is however what I thought it would be. The ladies with the hats or fascinator, the cars (today was Jaguar Day), the Veuve Clicquot stem that come with the price of table admission. It's something I would recommend once. It makes your next cocktail conversation that much more interesting.

When you think of a polo match I'm sure big hats, loafers without socks and seersucker come to mind. And if you're in Palm Beach, Saratoga Springs or East Hampton, those are all major components in the equation.
Having been to some haughty polo clubs in my day, I didn't know what to expect from Oak Brook's Polo Club, but I figured, since it is one of the oldest polo clubs in the country, it wasn't going to be too shaby.
What I found when we went yesterday was a GREAT Sunday retreat from the same ol' same ol' routine. AND- it was cheap (only $10 a person with free parking). We brought chairs and some snacks- next time we go I will definitely pack a heartier and more tipsy picnic- people had set ups comprable to Ravinia.
The grounds are goregous and because it's not too crowded, you can score a prime spot in the middle where the action is always front and center.
I supose before I go on and on about the tent, the boxes, the food and drinks, I need to point out what an AWESOME sport polo is to watch. It's like a marriage of field hockey, soccer, horse racing and croquet. The ponies are such magnificant creatures and the Latin American polo players are equally fun to look at! So- that being said- our Sunday afternoon was a real treat and I definitely plan on attending through the rest of the season any Sunday that I'm available.Helpful 7Thanks 0Love this 5Oh no 0 - Jodi F.FL, FL0255Jul 11, 2016
What fun!! We purchased the 40 dollar tickets and got all dressed up hats and all. Great excuse to day drink and lots of fun coctails to choose from. The horses are beautiful and the announcer is a gas!!! Eat before you go. No food opportunities until 230 pm and then there's just one choice of a food truck. Ours was greasy fried foods. Not what I wanted to eat at an outdoor special event such as this one. Chicken wings really aren't what you want to eat when your dressed your best. But go fur the chuckers!!!
