This review is WAY overdue! We were with FMAA from Oct 2017 - June 2022. My boys loved it and one has exceeded so much because of the confidence he built from FMAA. He developed leadership skills and still values the 5 tenets of TKD. It's been a year since we moved out of state and he still practices poomsae moves / self defense moves, he learned from FMAA, randomly around the house. We miss FMAA /Mr&Mrs Sauers. We tried other schools here but we can not find another school that holds the same values as FMAA! (We joke and say FMAA is like Miyagi Do and the other school is like Cobra Kai).
I love how FMAA gets involved with the community and teaches the importance of community service. The summer camp often left the boys exhausted when they were younger and they also had fun with the demo team at the nearby festivals.

      Give them a chance!

FMAA is an amazing place to learn Taekwondo! All of the teachers there care about the people they teach. They spend the time to make sure everyone gets what they need. They aren't afraid to give tough love too, which I, as a parent, appreciate because sometimes that's what a child needs. They also offer lots of classes which makes it very flexible and easy to work around other commitments! I highly recommend them!

Our kids really enjoy going to this dojo, it's really well structured, very friendly and focused on discipline. We tried the other dojo in this area, really seemed like quit the opposite, and a bit "culty". They kinda were like revenge of the nerds meets martial arts. We also like how freedom does other festive activities during the holidays, and parents nights out, thank god. Might check out some of the adult classes for myself.

Went in for a little self-defense lesson and I was blown away by how kind and welcoming everyone was. I learned many tips, and maneuvers over a variety of situations. I left with zero questions and a bunch of new knowledge. I would definitely recommend at least checking it out because it was phenomenal.

I enrolled my son here about a year and two months ago and I have never seen so much improvement in his attitude and integrity since he has been a part of the freedom martial arts family this place is not only served it's purpose as a good outlet for working out and teaching them new skills but it teaches them a lot about how to treat others and respect elders and their peers it's a beautiful environment as a family environment I am just so thrilled that I am a part of this family they make you feel right at home it's worth every penny I suggest if you haven't checked it out and you were in the local area to come join freedom martial arts adults and children are welcome

Freedom Martial Arts Academy has changed my life. When I started women's self defense with them, I was scared. I had no knowledge or ability to fight off an attacker. A man, a complete stranger to me, had crawled through my window while I was home and sexually assaulted me before I went to Freedom Martial Arts Academy, and I had no idea what to do. And he wouldn't leave. After that incident I felt some training was and is necessary. The owners of Freedom Martial Arts Academy are the most patient and overall amazing people you could ever meet. And nearly a year or from the intruder, I have every confidence in myself that I can handle pretty much any situation in just a few moves.

Sifu Norm has a calm and casual manner and over 15 years of experience with this classic martial art. My son enjoys the class and is learning the fundamentals of a style rare in the South Sound.

My son joined Freedom right after Christmas. We joined after a recommendation from a friend as both of our sons were experiencing bullying at school and they stopped the TKD program at the YMCA. Best decision ever. Not only did my son join but I shortly joined after. As time went on we have found most of our afternoons and weekends are with the Freedom Family. Not because we have to make a class but because we absolutely love being there. I wouldn't think at my age I would start something like this but I am hooked. I attend the all ages classes with the kids and love it. If you have ever wanted to give Martial Arts a try this is the place to go. I am in better shape than I have been in years and sharing it with my son. We are both more confident, respectful, and use the skills in our daily lives. This is a family friendly (you will meet a lot of great families) environment that focuses not only on TKD but values and community.
