Discover Aquatics & Swim School

I have to write about how great this place is. I have been wary with the online reviews and mom groups on social media.

We have been there since spring because the Y always books up before I have any opportunity... and I have a child who will jump off cliffs into the ocean. I need her to take swim lessons.

Her little sister has struggled for 2 years to put her face in the water. She has been in swim classes in different places since she was 3. She didn't like being wet and looked miserable.

Discover Aquatics is warm. I mean, is it the pool or is it the staff.... ? All of a sudden she loves swimming. This summer she capsized in a river and was dragged down by a wave on the beach. Both times, she recovered quickly and without tears.

I really feel in my heart I have to credit Discover Aquatics for her growth and fearlessness as a swimmer. She simply had to get over that hump to hang with her big sister, who swam with manta rays in the Pacific last winter.

I've rescheduled lessons without any issues. I am just very grateful.

I am absolutely thrilled with this school! My children are having a fantastic time with their wonderful teacher and the engaging classes offered here. The facilities are top-notch, with warm water and a clean, inviting atmosphere that makes learning so enjoyable. I cannot believe how much progress my kids have made in such a short amount of time. They were initially terrified of water, but after just three months of taking classes, they have completely overcome their fear and now they love swimming! It is an absolute delight to see them enjoying themselves and learning such an important life skill.

Instuctors are fantastic. They have aggressive monetary policies. Read the fine print. You pay for classes even if they are closed for holidays or repairs. We showed up for our regularly scheduled class and were greeted in the lobby by unfamiliar people asking us to sign a new waiver. Apparently, they were bought by a new swim school chain from out of state. It's difficult to get someone on the phone and the front desk staff is unfriendly and unhelpful.

What a perfect little place for your kids to learn to swim...They may not look the part..( brand new) but the staff and the instructors make your child feel safe and the center of their intention.

This is a total I've Given Up business. Their website hasn't worked in months. They no longer have a functional Facebook page. Their phone doesn't always work and voice-mail is never returned. Is this a shell corporation?? I am trying to call and sign my kid up for lessons, but cant figure out how you actually DO that. This is NOT run like one in which a person is actually trying to make money. Definitely go elsewhere or skip completely.

I really wish I would have read the reviews before I signed up. Their rescheduling policy is extremely unreasonable, as well as their cancellation policy. I feel like I just got scammed out of $150.

Uncaring owners. I can see that the areas the business lacks in is due to owner being uninvolved. Stupid policy of reducing a 30 minute prepaid class to 20 min if only one kid shows up. My kid was consistently the only one showing up and we would get swindled out of 40 min of class time a month, so more than one entire lesson.
The website is completely not taken care of, looks like it hasn't been updated in over 3 years. Can't find any updated info there. Many times my phone calls haven't been answered. Instructors very inconsistent, always a different one.
After 1 year, my son is still doing the same exact things he was doing a year ago, with no progress at all.
We were warned before going there but gave it a full year. Money wasted. I'm sure the owner doesn't even read the reviews or answers, since it seems like a neglected business.

Terrible customer service. They don't return phone calls unless they want to get paid. We needed to switch our class and after 4 weeks of not receiving a call back, they called asking for our money. Terrible service.

Signed up my granddaughter for private lessons and it was a waste of money!

This review is for two year old group swimming lessons. I'm overall very pleased with our experience the last few months. Dionne is incredible and shes 5 star material for sure. She really tries to get the toddlers to engage and practice format for when they can really get into it. One star overall taken due to slight inconsistency with teachers - when it wasn't Dionne it did seem to be someone pretty new who usually wasn't as attentive or into the instruction and it unfortunately showed. Still overall pleased as this is just toddler stuff. Front desk staff has always been super professional and friendly in encounters I've had with them and rescheduling due to things like illness was always a breeze. I'd recommend them for this age group. Cannot attest to older kiddos or individual lessons.
