This course is really nice, it's the constant harassment you receive from the course rangers. We were a party of 6, 2 dads playing golf with their 22 year old daughters while the moms drove along to watch the match. The first 9 holes we were approached by 3 different rangers. first guy was trying to enforce a no cart rule that we were told on the 1st hole had been lifted. 2nd guy asked if we paid for the extra cart. 3rd guy searched our carts.
The second half of the course we were stalked by an older lady ranger most of the time. Really ridiculous! We weren't raising hell just having a nice outing with our daughters.
We wont be back!Helpful 0Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0Business owner information

Hi Roxanne, Sorry we didnt meet your expectations and you had issues during your round. We work hard on staff training and must manage pace of play for the entire golf course so everyone has a good experience, I cant speak to the situation you ran in to but will will work on providing a better experience next time. Best Kevin Osgood

Will not be back. Felt harassed for the last 9 holes of golf. Course in great shape BUT you can't play a nice round of golf in peace. We felt rushed and will not be back. Massholes!!

There is no golf course, public or private, that has better greens than Crystal Lake. If you have not played Crystal in the last 5 years and only have memories of when it was Crystal Springs. You are missing the best value in the Merrimack Valley.
Weekend time cost me $55 to walk and my father in law $75 to ride. Absolute steal. Great service with online booking. $4 beers.... Crazy value.Helpful 0Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0Business owner information

Rob, Thanks for playing Crystal Lake GC and your nice comments, we have the best Superintendent and greens staff around and the pride in their hard work shows! Combine that with a wonderful pro shop and grill staff and hopefully we have one of the best golf experiances in the area! Thanks again, Kevin Osgood

Great course in great condition and they are constantly improving it so it just keeps getting better. However, the x-factor that elevates the experience to a 5 star is the stellar staff they have. Everyone I have come in contact with at the course and pro-shop is nice as can be. I can especially speak to the weeknight staff, I usually golf after work on the weekdays and the rangers are exceptionally polite and kind. I would absolutely recommend Crystal Lake to anyone.

This was the first time I played this course since the 80's. It was in great shape. In my opinion I thought the greens were a bit hard to read. They are fast since they are rolled but I like fast greens. The fairways were in excellent shape except for the rock I hit on 3 causing me to lose a well hit drive. It is challenging in places but not hard. The staff was nice including the starter who is also a firefighter and the bartend was equally friendly. The clubhouse has draft beer which is always a plus for me! Rates are appropriate for the course. It's really beautiful to play in the fall.

Pouring rain and 40 degrees out and no offer for a refund? Also the service from the pro shop worker was very off putting and not very friendly. Won't be coming back anytime soon.

Worst course to play on. This course is loaded with geese shit on all the fairways and greens. It is really disgusting. If they would do something to control the geese population it would be a fun course but after golfing and my glove, clubs and balls as well as shoes are covered in green shit it is horrible and very unsanitary.

Karen, WOW, really? Geese waste on ALL the fairways and greens!!?? You must really have had a bad day when you decided to post this review slamming Crystal Lake GC. Next time why dont you wait a day to write your reviews. We have a geese problem on our 14th and 15th holes. We have legally permitted and hired hunters to work toward reducing the problem but it has not been eliminated. We have a dog in training that we are working with to help the situation. The grounds crew mows and blows daily to help. We have a beautiful 18 hole golf course in amazing condition with some of the best greens in the State and the whole course is NOT covered with goose waste. Best, Kevin

Great golf course. Unique layout, and very tricky greens kept me on my toes all day. The downhill approach shot on 4 was a memorable one -- one to really soak in. They're clearly putting in work to keep this course in the best shape possible. Wasn't too busy and was a very pleasant place to spend the afternoon. Can't wait to get back.

I get it during covid 19 things get restrictive and maybe it is golfing in Mass. However they search you to make sure you don't bring in outside booze. "Leave it in your car" is their quote. Ok fine. Done. Then NO cart person on a Sunday You have to call ahead and order food. All this for $65. They don't care if it's two to a cart. The management needs a better system Their loss they got my 65 and that's it. Won't be returning until I know the state has reopened

Hi Brent, Thank you for playing Crystal Lake GC in these trying Covid19 times. We are required by MA ABCC laws to not allow outside alcohol brought into the course so we are trying to operate without jeopardizing our license, I will check as we did have a beverage cart scheduled for Sunday. Until yesterday in MA food service was only allowed as takeout, so yes we had to set up a call ahead service, with MA now opening outside patio service of food just yesterday, things will get much smoother. Thanks for your patience and hope you have a chance to play again under better circumstances. Kevin Osgood
