My daughter initially came her for a classmate birthday. rather than do the birthda activities she kept fencing. we purchased three months unlimited and Joe going into our second month she asks daily, "are we going fencing".
The coaching style is more holistic with pushing the child when they need it.
Students teach other student to reinforce what they have learned and develop their leadership skills.
High school athletes are expected and want to help/challenge the young students.
If you are looking for a shiny place with struck rules and method this is not it. The kids and adults are enjoying themselves and pushing each other to excel. Elaine welcomes everyone as part of the family.Helpful 0Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0 - Tamara T.Aurora, CO04Dec 26, 2020
This is the best fencing club. Elaine, a world champion, gives a state of the art training for kids and adults. This is an amazing club and I highly recommend it. In particular I recommend it to kids with ADD and ADHD as the training has done so much good for my kid. We have been going to the club for more than 6 years now.

The good:
The camp was a nice change of pace. Super active for the kids and they learn a new sport. Lots of great pets are on-site to occupy children during breaks.
The bad:
Elaine gets to be a pain as she constantly harasses you and your children if you are going to sign up for more weeks. Once you tell her you are only doing one week, her demeanor to you (and the kids) gets quite negative.Helpful 0Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0 - Stacey G.Austin, TX5210713Mar 15, 2011First to Review
My 8 year old has gone to many different after school places and tried many sports as well as music lessons. This place tops them all by a mile.
The place is very relaxed, yet focused and professional. I can't believe how well their style of teaching matches so well to my child's way of learning.
They don't just do fencing, this is a real work out to make a student into being a real athlete. They do jumping jacks, jump rope, jumping over benches, pushups, sit ups, quick sword jabs, exercise pulls to strengthen the arm, running and badminton each lesson, as well as actual sword fighting lessons and sword fighting with a partner.
If you want to continue on and train for the pentathlon, they can set you up with that, too. They have a shooting range in the basement to train for that, then horseback riding, swimming and running round out the five.
Last but definitely not least, this place is run by an Olympic Fencing coach, so they aren't just playing around. I would say the fencing classes are really, really good for creating more focus, as well as agility, and the art of fencing.
Enroll today, adult or child. The fees are some of the better I've seen in all of my classes. Not expensive, like I thought it would be.Helpful 2Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0 - Nina S.Denver, CO03Dec 15, 2017
The atmosphere is helpful and welcoming to all, from injured and unwanted animals, to any human, hoping to engage in fun and spirited learning, regardless of age, size or gender. Everyone can benefit from these enjoyable teachings and the school couldn't be structured better or safer.

What a disappointment. What a dump. This is essentially a drop off day care for busy parents. Kids running around. No structure, no organization, no discipline. Owners dogs loose and running around, pissing on stuff (swear to god). Loose parrots and a pigeon spraying seeds and shitting (swear to god). Place stinks like animals and piss. A lot happens here, but it ain't fencing - let's be very clear about this. We test drove the program for free, looking for a fencing environment for our 10 yr old to learn. No thanks, we won't be returning and will be looking for other options.

We were always looking for a sport that our son would enjoy. He had tried soccer, baseball, karate and golf but did not really enjoy them. It was not until he was in middle school that he finally found fencing (or maybe fencing found him). With the training at Cheyenne and the encouragement of Elaine, the owner, not only has he stuck with fencing, he now competes in the Modern Pentathlon at the Olympic Training Center and other places in the region. That means he trains in 5 sports (fencing, swimming, horseback riding, running and shooting): all because of Cheyenne Fencing. It has been the most amazing experience for our son. We have been impressed with the way Elaine seems to understand the different learning styles of their students and what motivates them to be the best they can be. She was an Olympic fencer so she knows what is takes. Many of her students have done well in national and international competitions. We would have to say that it has transformed our son's life.

We decided on having our son take a look at this school after finding their website... after a short trial period he was all in. This is a great school, the instructors are professional, friendly and supportive. The training and coaching is a great thing for my sons focus and discipline. Found the school to be very affordable as well. Conveniently located and the class hours are easy on a busy schedule.
