CRICKET SEASON 2008

TO:      PARENTS (LOUGHTON C.C. UNDER 15’s/16’s)

1.         MATCHES

A fixture list will be available for the start of the season.  Some of these fixtures will be played on Sunday morning but the majority are played on Sunday afternoon.  The afternoon fixtures will enable your child to play (weather permitting) a longer game.  The Matchplay tournament is a 40 over competition (40 overs per side) and in the event of bad weather the length of the game will be reduced dependent on weather conditions and in the event of no game being possible then 5 players in the team will be nominated to participate in a bowl out each player bowling 2 deliveries each at the wicket, the team scoring the highest number of hits will be declared the winner.

2.         MATCH FEES

Match fees for a morning game are £3 for an afternoon game £4.  The £4 fee includes a tea.  A player and/or parent will be requested at each match to be responsible for the collection of the match fees.

3.         PARENTAL SUPPORT

Any offers of parental assistance will be greatly appreciated in particular offer for the assistance of preparing cricket teas on the occasions when the team are playing at home are required.

It is the responsibility of the Home Club when playing the Matchplay games to provide for the opposition and our own team a Cricket Tea.  You will note from the Fixture List attached that there are a few home games.  Are you able to offer, with or without other parents in the team, to provide a Cricket Tea for those matches? All offers made will be gratefully accepted.

4.         SENIOR CRICKET

As you maybe aware Loughton Cricket Club  has four Senior Saturday teams, a Senior Sunday team and a Ladies team and it is the hope of the Team Managers, Coaches and Officials working in the club that your child would now or sometime in the future wish to represent the Club at Senior Level.

If your child wishes to be considered for playing in any of the Senior Teams would you please ensure that the appropriate notification is passed to your Team Managers, Coaches, Andy Watson or myself.

The invitation to play Senior Cricket is not restricted to your child but is open to all Mums and Dads who maybe interested again in playing cricket at senior level on a regular or occasional basis, often in the same team as their son or daughter.

5.            CLUB SHIRTS

Loughton CC shirts have been ordered. Should any member/parent wish to purchase a shirt please see me at the club registration day or at any of the training sessions.
