Presidents’ Message – January 2024

  • LBLBC held its first board meeting of 2024 on Thursday January 4th and welcomed new officers and directors. The meeting minutes will be posted in clubhouse as always for your review.
  • The club is supported by our membership of volunteers; I and others will be asking for your support to join the many committees that keep things beautiful and maintained over the next 2 weeks.
  • I am very pleased to report that over 100 members have re-joined or joined the club asof January 5, 2024.
  • Doreen Hall has built us a new “LBLBC OFFICIAL FACEBOOK PAGE” – please check it out Doreen has posted pictures and articles already- Doreen has worked very hard on this and it looks fantastic. Thank you Doreen – great job !
  • Margaret Bulter is HOSTING a “Chili Fest” on February 20th – to start after draw game – please sign up to bring side dishes and pretty sure she would welcome help in setup, serving and clean-up.
  • A specia thank you to JonLaRose who just finished trimming down the all the court “Plinth Boards” to lawn Level.
  • LBLBC wishes our club member “Giulia Gallo” USA Player great success in the Imagine Cruising 2024 WORLD INDOOR CHAMPIONSHIPS at Potters Resort at Hopton-on-Sea in England from Friday 5th to Sunday 21st, January 2024. ( Go Giulia)

Draw Game Rules

GUIDELINES FOR DAILY DRAW GAMES

Adopted by Board of Directors, June 2022

  1. Morning and afternoon draw games are 14 ends unless both skips decide otherwise.
  2. Club tournament matches are allowed during draw game times.
  3. Pickup games are not allowed during draw game times.
  4. Individual (alone) practice is allowed during draw game times.
  5. Jacks improperly delivered by each team will be centered 2 meters from the ditch.
  6. Dead ends will be re-spotted 2 meters from the ditch.
  7. You must put up your own tag by 9:45 for morning games and 12:30 for afternoon games.  The last person to arrive is at risk of not playing in the game if there is an uneven number of players.
  8. Other rules notwithstanding, Bowls USA Laws of the Game must be followed.
