Always one of us. Help for Heroes: “It’s about the blokes, our men and women of the Armed Forces. It’s about Derek, a rugby player who has lost both his legs, it’s about Carl whose jaw is wired up so he has been drinking through a straw. It’s about Richard who was handed a mobile phone as he lay on the stretcher so he could say goodbye to his wife. It’s about Ben, it’s about Steven and Andy and Mark, it’s about them all. They are just blokes but they are our blokes; they are our heroes. We want to help our heroes.” If you would like to make a donation, offer publicity support, or offer a Prize Draw gift please contact joturner@suffolkcricketboard.co.uk 07738 199151

We welcome you to join us for our Sunday Services or other activities Contacts: John Ling 388751 Malcolm Ramm 384797 Stradbroke Baptist Chuch We welcome you to join us for our Sunday Services or other activities: Sunday Service – Every week at 10:15am A place of new beginnings! Want to know more? We invite you to come, see and listen.

We meet every Sunday morning at 10.15am when we enjoy meeting one another, but most importantly we are able to worship the Living Lord Jesus. We also meet at 9.30 before the service to pray together. We believe that Jesus died in order to release us from the judgement of God, and being raised from the dead, He has secured eternal life for each and everyone who will put their trust in Him as their personal Lord and Saviour. We enjoy both traditional and more lively worship in song and there is every opportunity to meet the Living Lord during our time together. We also hold a lunch on the 2nd Wednesday in the month at 12.30pm. This is called CAMEO where people literally come to meet each other. Many folk from the village come and enjoy good home made food, often followed by a quiz, or singing etc. We also invite you on the 4th Wednesday 10.00am – 11.30am to a cup of coffee and chat, with some items of bric-a brac to peruse! We invite you to our home-group at the Lilacs Laxfield Road held on the 4th Wednesday of the month 7.30 open to all. Our morning services in May are as follows: 6th Martin Humphries from TWAM 13th John Ling Family Service 20th David Quinn 27th Norman Tharby For more information please call one of our Leaders Relationships There is a great need for us to have friendship with one another. Some of us are fortunate to live within a road that has a community spirit, and have people with whom we can call upon to chat and share with. Friendships are really important, especially if we have no family relations within easy reach. At our church, over the years, many people have developed friendships by coming to the CAMEO Lunch, held on the 2nd Wednesday of each month, it is so good to see people enjoying each other’s company. There is a warmth when we meet together, and again at our coffee morning. But even when there may not be anyone around, there is one who can “walk with you and talk with you” as the hymn writer says. His name is Jesus, the one who knows all and sees all. There are many questions about God, and at Stradbroke Baptist Church, we can only try a to find the answers to the many things that we do not understand, but what we do guarantee is that we do care about people and are willing to talk with anyone who is seeking answers about the Christian Faith. We do invite you to come along and find out for yourself what Christianity is really all about. We also invite you to our home-group advertised on this page. You do not have to come to church to attend this time of sharing together, it is very informal and you will receive a warm welcome. Jackie

All Saints Church Fund Raising Committee The Art Exhibition ran as smoothly as ever, many thanks to everyone who contributed to it. We raised £1936.63, and this was the event that brings in the most much needed funds. Thanks to all the helpers on the rota. On May the 15th and 16th we held our Matchstick Model Exhibition which was a truly wonderful display by Don Bichers – what a talent he has. Our thanks goes to Don and Barry for their help and to Jan who also helped and provided us with the lovely cake. This event hopefully will be repeated which raised £248.40. Such a happy occasion. On the 3rd June we have a Flowers and Food evening in the Community Centre at 7:30pm, where Rosie from Rich Pickings tells us about Food, along with Hilary Hadington from Fancy That (Flowers for all occasions) demonstrates flower arranging. Tickets are priced at £6 including wine from PO or Mary Ellis, which should be another evening to look forward to. June 27th is Open Gardens from 11 – 6pm. I have five gardens at present but desperately need more. Come and open yours and show others what Stradbroke can do. Programmes and maps are from the Church. Adult tickets are priced at £2 and there will be teas and coffees available. On June the 12th we are having another cake stall, so we would welcome anything including vegetables etc. We seem to be kept busy but very thankful for your continued support. Mary Ellis

The Rectory Tel: 384363 Email: davidstreeter@suffolkonline.net Church Website: www.allsaints-stradbroke. com Dear Friends, There was indeed a feast to see and to taste for those in the Church at the Art Exhibition with many pictures of a high quality, and refreshments that were much appreciated and there should be a super evening for the same senses. “Food & Flowers” on June 3rd. Have you bought your tickets? Don Bickers’ magnificent display two weeks later delighted very many of us, and I was unable to resist the opportunity to buy the model of our parish church for myself. I am already inside, with lights and music! Watch out for more later in the year to decorate and enhance our beautiful place of worship. Very sadly, Canon Derek Green of Worlingworth died four days after his wife Phebe. Their joint funeral service on May 7th was indeed a celebration of their Christian lives and their ministry. We are invited to St Peter’s, Athelington, on Sunday 27th June for the Festival Service of Morning Prayer at 11.00am in the church, to be followed, if you wish to accept our invitation, by a Lunch in the garden at Meadow Farm, the home of Keith and Mary Hawes. Tickets are £8 for adults, and £4 for under-twelves. It is the same day as our “Open Gardens”, but you should have time for both. I am again entering four classes of the Suffolk Show Flower Arrangement Competition on June 2nd and 3rd and at Heveningham Hall on July 11th. Another activity that I enjoy is abseiling, and the church tower provides a one hundred foot opportunity on Saturday June 26th to support “Help for Heroes” and other good causes. Places are limited; please let me know if you wish to take part. There may be another “Abseiling Day” later in the year. Inside the church tower are ten bells. We hear one of them every day when the clock strikes, the others perhaps once a month. Some of you could make sure that we can listen to them every week, one evening for practice and on Sunday mornings. Do contact me if you are interested in learning to ring the church bells, or telephone Trevor and Julie Hughes on 01379 388192. You could also join me and many others inside the church, arranging the flowers, dusting, sweeping and polishing and doing all that encourages so many kind remarks in the Visitors’ Book. With all good wishes, David Streeter. All Saints Church Cleaning, Thursday, 3rd June - 10.00 am onwards Margaret Streeter

Life in the Legion 17 members were present at our May meeting to hear our speaker Peter Warren, a retired Acting Chief Superintendant, who had served in The MET for 30 years, and who had started his career as a Constable in 1956 in King’s Cross. The Vote of thanks was led by Michael Burton our Chairman, and all the members thoroughly enjoyed hearing about his experiences. In the business part of the meeting we remembered Canon Green from Worlingworth, and George Thompson from Tibenham who had recently died. We also ran through the dates and details of a number of future events. Stradbroke Branch hosted the May ‘H’ Group Meeting at Brome VH which was well attended and was held under the chairmanship of Michael Burton. The County Report given by N Eade gave details of the resignations of a number of County Officers, and the proposals to replace them. A number of our members and our Standard Bearer Ian Bushnell were present at Green Farm, Redlingfield, on the 15th May at a moving ceremony to unveil a memorial to a B17 Bomber which had crashed shortly after take-off from Horham on the 19th November 1943 with the loss of 10 lives. A parade of standards led the procession to the memorial, and a Fly Past at 10.30am by a Dakota started the commemoration. A number of USAF Veterans and their families were present. The Red Feather Club was open afterwards to serve refreshments. Members will be receiving Invitations to our Annual Coffee Morning on Saturday 19th June at The Chantry, Queen St, between 10am to 12 noon, and as usual we will welcome anybody in the village who would like to attend. The Speaker at the Next Meeting at 11.30 am on June 3rd at The Laxfield King’s Head will be General Sir Christopher Wallace who will speak about Dunkirk. Members please try to attend to hear what will be an excellent talk. Jeremy Higgins, Branch Secretary Michael Burton, Branch Chairman

Stradbroke Women’s Institute Our meeting in May was a real change, after the business of the evening was completed, Tony Buckland brought along his World of Toys to entertain us. Wow they took us right back to our childhood. There was Meccano, Hornby Toy Trains, Dinky Toys, a beautiful scrapbook dated 1878, plus tin plate toys through to plastic toys dating after the Second World War. We learnt (or remembered) how to make a doll from a wooden spoon, saw wonderful board games, right through to a Wallace and Gromit alarm clock. We had a gentle amble down memory lane, an interesting history of toys. Pru Rush gave the vote of thanks and Eileen Heftley won the competition for the eldest toy – well done ladies. Don’t forget our meeting in June is our Garden meeting – this will be on Thursday 10th June, at Valley Farm, the garden of Jane and Stuart Gemmill at 6pm, and we just needs lots of sunshine that evening. See you there, Iris Badcock , Press Secretary

Fun and Fitness Day Despite a wet, cold and windy Saturday morning a very successful event was held to formally open the playing field track and fitness equipment. Jim Morris cut the red ribbon and the Primary School band set to right atmosphere with their excellent playing. Thank you to all who turned up and I hope everyone takes the opportunity to use the track for walking, running or jogging and has a go on the equipment. Peter Smith, Chairman Stradbroke Charitable Trust

Community Centre Our Annual General Meeting was held on Thursday, 20th. May. Eleven people attended and there were six apologies. Happily the officers were prepared to continue; they are Peter Chetwynd – Chairman, Mike Cane Licencee and Bookings, Eileen Shelford - Treasurer, Margaret Streeter – Secretary. The whole committee was re-elected en bloc. Our new Cinema season starts in September and the date is Thursday 23rd, and further showings are on Thursday, 21st October and Thursday 18th.November at 7.00 for 7.30 pm. The Bar will be open - and ice creams are on sale in the interval! Entrance £5.50. No Titles yet - keep the dates free. Thank you for supporting us this season. You will see that we have a splendid new lockable notice-board; organisers of events to be held in The Community Centre are welcome to place posters there - just let me have them by e-mail via m.streeter@btinternet.com or deliver them to The Rectory, Doctors Lane. Margaret Streeter

Stradbroke Business & Enterprise College Latest News (Edited—Full article on stradbroke.org.uk) During the Easter holiday a new artificial cricket pitch was installed. On a similar theme I have been made aware of bids that the school may make to purchase an astro turf which could replace half of the current tennis court area. I would like to hear from anyone who knows of any local trusts or charities for which this development may attract funding. I would envisage this development being a community resource not just for the school. There is an impressive range of events planned for this term and these include: the visit to our partner school in Kenya by Mrs Millar, Mr Moore and three girls; the Valencia Football Trip; the Art Exhibition (which promises to be even better than previous years) and also the Primary Schools’ Music Day. In addition, the planned Flexi Days have a range of learning experiences for pupils including visits to a London Theatre, Battersea Power Station and Pleasurewood Hills. I am delighted that the staff are so willing to organise these enhanced learning opportunities for the pupils. North Suffolk Skills Centre Fifteen Year 11 pupils attended the award ceremony at North Suffolk Skills Centre on Friday 7th May. These pupils have completed their two years of study on a variety of courses: Level 1 Introductory Certificate in Basic Construction, BTEC Construction and the Built Environment, Level 1 Certificate in Vehicle Maintenance and Repair and Level 1 Hairdressing. Almost all pupils are moving on to further courses within their chosen trade or apprenticeships and job opportunities. New Head Boy and Girl The process for electing the Head Boy/Girl is comprehensive and designed to be fair but also to find the best candidates. First, the senior classes and staff score all pupils in Year 10 on five different criteria. Only those with significant support are invited to apply. This year the contest came down to four boys and five girls. Each wrote and published a manifesto and then spoke in a hustings to the school assembly - a daunting prospect. Years 9 and 10 plus staff then had a secret vote. The worthy winners for 2010 -2011 are Isabel Arnold and Elliot Tovell. Runners up and deputies are, Ben Coe and Lucy Gobbitt. Their duties started the very next day when called upon to escort a group of visitors around the school. Throughout the coming year they will be expected to represent the school and publically speak on many occasions. The outgoing head boy, Jack Stevens, said “This has been a great year for me I have learnt a lot and have enjoyed every minute – I wish Izzie and Elliot the best of luck”. Andrew Bloom, Headteacher

Stradbroke Primary School It seems remarkable that I am now entering my third year as Headteacher of Stradbroke Primary. Time goes so quickly! This term has seen some changes at the school. We welcome two new teachers, Mrs Linda Walsh and Mr Ian Plowman. Both teachers will be teaching in Key Stage Two from September. Our school continues to develop our excellent practice in Early Years and the children in our Reception class are having great fun using their outdoor play area. We are also hosting the Infant Activity Day this year for every pupil in Key Stage One from every school in our pyramid- this year with an animal theme! This year I have been asked to speak to aspiring Heads about the benefits of small school Headship both for the County and Nationally for the NCSL. I was the closing speaker at a National Rural Schools Conference and was pleased to report on all the positive aspects of being a Headteacher. The pupils continue to thrive and have recently been on school trip to Norwich Castle, Minsmere Nature Reserve and the Suffolk Agricultural Show. We are becoming involved in an art project launched at Wingfield barns and organised by the Sainsbury Centre at the University of East Anglia called “Culture of the Countryside”. Look out for an exhibition of the children’s art work at Wingfield Barns before the end of Summer. We are about to create and refurnished our ICT suite before half term. I am pleased to report our school toilets and hall are being redecorated. Our annual Summer fete will be held on Saturday the 26th of June and as usual we would like to invite and encourage as many residents in the village to attend as possible. It is a lovely way for those who may not have children of school age to come along, see and support their local school. There will be many fun stalls for the children and adults. A big thank you as ever to the Friends of School for organising this. Overall we have come along way in the past two years, we have many plans for the future and Stradbroke Primary is an exciting place to be. Mrs Melanie Barrow

This bill is for Mr Corbyn, who ran the chemist shop further down Church Street. Mike Readman

We are always happy to welcome new Friends into our fold (they don't have to join the Committee). Lovely old churches like our own in Stradbroke are constantly in need of repair and the Quinquennial Inspection Report estimated that we need £138,000 to meet the cost of the basic problems. Also our insurance amounts to around £1000 p.a. So you can understand why we are always fundraising and asking for financial help. We have good quality Stradbroke tea towels on sale at the Post Office for £6 which are very attractively designed and make very useful gifts. On behalf of the Friends of All Saints Stradbroke, we also wish to thank all who supported us at our Plant Sale on 1st May and that we took over £220. Thank you, Margaret Buckland

Forthcoming Events

RoughCast Theatre Review ‘Tis Pity She’s A Whore , Stradbroke Community Centre Forbidden love, obsessive jealousy, murder and revenge were the main themes of RoughCast’s latest production. Blood and gore, fops and scoundrels, brother and sister incest-what more could you ask for in a Jacobean classic drama? Directed by Mark Finbow and produced by Emma Martin, this was an excellent production, packed with young talent and experienced actors. Ryan Hill Giovanni) and Alice Mottram (Annabella) were passionate, stylish and moving as the forbidden young lovers. Adrian McKeogh (Bergetto) and Ben Wilmott (Poggio) provided doltish humour amongst the stabbings, alongside stalwarts from RoughCast, Pat Quorn, Paul Baker, Pat Parris and Simon Evans. Amy Gibbons (Hippolita) mastered anguish, revenge and a harrowing death during the course of the play. The body count overall was impressive! The audience were on either side of the action, making the theatrical experience immediate and riveting. There was no set, just brilliant acting-a real treat for Stradbroke drama aficionados. I loved it. Maureen John

Wingfield Gardeners Meet Sculptors The severe winter has not put off our intrepid gardeners from busily preparing for this year's Wingfield Open Gardens fundraising event in aid of the East Anglian Air Ambulance and St Andrew's Church. As well as the eleven professional sculptors who will be exhibiting work for sale in the village gardens on Saturday 3rd and Sunday 4th July, there will be an abundance of plants for sale, a plant swap and hanging baskets containing herbs. In addition Wingfield Barns will run two free art exhibitions: 'Culture of the Countryside' and ‘A Village Lost and Found’, followed by a Sunday afternoon concert of classical music. Refreshments, cream teas and light lunches are being offered in several gardens to encourage visitors to take their time to enjoy a leisurely day out in the Suffolk countryside. An air of excitement has spread around the village in anticipation of meeting the artists who descended on the village in late May to attend a planning meeting with the gardeners at Wingfield Barns. One resident described it as a 'speed dating' experience, where keen sculptor meets eager gardener for the first time, followed by a tour of their garden and a pub lunch! Tickets can be purchased from the De La Pole Arms and Wingfield Barns two weeks before the event from Saturday 19 June, priced £2 to view all seventeen gardens with free admission for under 16s accompanied by an adult. This includes a list of gardens with details about each garden and a map. These will also be available in garden locations during the event. Rosemary Elliott Wingfield Open Gardens Committee Photograph: Etruscan Couple Bronze, by Beatrice Hoffman Beatrice Hoffman has exhibited widely in the UK and Europe and her work will be on display on the sculpture terrace at Wingfield Barns during the Wingfield Open Gardens event.

Fair Trade News Lots to talk about this time – so here goes! Starting on a personal level – I am expecting another baby in the late summer, this has been a bit of a surprise and it will make keeping the shop open and vibrant a challenge that I need your help with. From 1st June the calendar will be up in the Church Porch – volunteers sign up for individual days, or if they can, one day a week. As from the 1st week in June we plan to add Thursdays to our current opening hours and have regular coffee time at 11am (following daily mass). Coffee time is open to everyone who is about in Eye on a Thursday at this time to just grab a coffee & take a few minutes out of a busy day – do join us when you can. We will be open on both days during the Eye Open Gardens weekend & running a ‘mini Big Fairtrade Day’ at the Church where refreshments will also be available – this is a great time to come down – see what we do, and perhaps volunteer to help us in the summer! Sports Roundup

Stradbroke Cricket Club Once again, the month of May has seen the Cricket Club’s time split between playing, and continuing to honour the memory of James Grigg. On the field, the Vikings (formerly the 1st XI) have had two wins and a defeat. Highlight of the win at Lakenheath was a club record 5th wicket stand between Scott Turner(98) & Richard Pierce-Saunderson(68), who also set personal bests. The A Team have struggled to get going, with two straight defeats, although Stuart Taylor, Steve Warner, and Willie Wilkinson have shown glimpses of form. The youngsters, however are sweeping all before them. The girls beat Eye in the Lady Taverners Competition, with Megan Garrod taking 5 for 9. The Under 11’s beat Yoxford in the Cup, Harry Dyer starring with bat & ball. The Under 13’s progressed in the cup also, as did the Under 15’s at Battisford. Kieran Allum (29) & 3 for 16 being the star. They also won their first league game, chasing down 155 against Worlingworth. Liam Smith(48), Ollie Bickley(42), & Dan Taylor(31) oozing class. Ensuring a production line of young cricketers continues is always at the top of club priorities, and the formation of the James Grigg Youth Cricket Trust, should help that. The circumstances are unfortunate, but the sentiment is totally apt. To boost the Trust further, and by way of a Memorial Match, Suffolk are sending their 1st XI to Stradbroke on Friday June 18th for a T20 game. There will be a bar, hog roast, barbecue, & a grand raffle (details elsewhere). All proceeds will be divided between the Trust, and the ‘Help for Heroes’ Charity. Please support these worthy causes. If you need any further details, or wish to donate raffle prizes, contact me on 384433. Thank you. Michael Hugman

The Stradbroke Village Games 2010 After our traditional delay of a week due to the weather, the 2010 Village Games took place in lovely sunshine on Sunday 9th May. We were delighted that so many people joined in with 44 competitors ranging in age from 4, well done Phoebe, to well, let’s just say over 21. This year we awarded 3 points for a win, 2 for second and 1 for third so we could calculate the overall winners. They were: First Tom Hargrave 18 points, Second Kieran Allum 14 Points, Third = Lee Chilvers, Soren Royds, Jack Smith 12 points Our next big event is the Intervillage Games on 20th June. Why not come along and cheer for the village? As defending champions we’ll need all the support you can give! Sam Hackett

Stradbroke Youth Football Club The inaugural AGM was held in May and the club is now formally in existence! We have an under 12s team in a six-a-side tournament on 22nd May and the Wednesday and Sunday training continues until Sunday 30th May. However we still plan to enter any summer tournaments we can find. For the 2010/2011 season we have lodged our entry into the Suffolk & Ipswich Sunday Youth League and anticipate at least an Under 10s 7-aside team and either an Under 13s or 14s 11-aside team. More details nearer the start of the season. We had great fun in the pouring rain on May 8th at the opening of the fitness track where the under 11s had a training session as part of the event. Gardeners Notes The warm weather has arrived and I can safely say that it is time to put your tender plants out. Bedding, vegetables, dahlias and cannas will all be fine. Anyone who put them out a bit early may have been caught out by the frosts we had in the middle of May. I spoke to a gardener in the village and she said that the best way to tell if the time is right to bring out tender plants is if the soil is warm enough to sit on 'comfortably' with your bare bum then it is warm enough for the plants. I think I may just wait until the end of May to be honest but it's a good test none the less. We haven't had the temperature or rain to really get the grass growing but when it does come everything will get going including the weeds, keep an eye out and regularly hoe, this goes for borders and vegetable beds. June is a high point for early summer herbaceous plants with aquilegia, nepeta, hardy geraniums, foxgloves and many more looking really good. If you are buying plants from nurseries or garden centres don't just think about plants that look good now but look out for flowering plants that will take you to mid and late summer. A good summer long gap filler is Nicotiana sylvestris (the tobacco plant), especially the tall white one and it works well when planted with verbena bonariensis. It is worth remembering that any plants put in from now on will need to be watered in well and also through any dry spells during the summer to get the best out of them. The best water to use on your plants is rain water so, if you have the space, waterbutts with diverters on downpipes should be used where ever you can. Water in the evening or very early morning for best effect, but if you do have to water during the heat of the day avoid watering the leaves as some plants can get scorched leaves, this is particularly noticeable on Japanese maples. Rhubarb has been good this year but will benefit from extra watering because of the dry weather early on, this helps it build up for next year. It is alright to keep picking for a while but leave a good number of leaves to put energy back into the root. Because of the cold weather early on vegetables have been slow to get going, you may find you have to re-sow in some areas or when you are thining out rows of germinated seeds you can use the seedlings further down the row where you have gaps. Pigeons have been a problen this year so keep your brassicas covered (good advice for all!). Soft fruit will be ripening and make sure you get to enjoy it before the birds, a fruit cage is the best solution but you can buy netting and place over the bushes just as the fruit develops. The most inportant time to water if the weather is dry is when the fruits are developing as the plants are under the most stress, this goes for tomatoes, potatoes andcourgettes as well. If you don't have much space climbers work well to add colour to bare walls and fences or up posts on pergolas. There are hundreds if not thousands of varieties of clematis but some are a bit tempremental, I have found a few very reliable ones I like to use. Early flowering ones are Clematis alpina and Clematis macropetala, both well behaved, Clematis montana varieties are very good but do romp away so need space. Mid season tend to have large flowers with Clematis 'Miss Bateman' and Clematis 'Nelly Moser' being good white flowering ones. Late flowering are Clematis 'Bill Mackenzie', Clematis Jackmannii and Clematis 'Pearle d'Azure'. There are also pretty winter flowering evergreen clematis with Clematis armandii and Clematis cirrhosa being very good in sheltered positions. When planting clematis plant them about 10 cm lower than the top of the compost level in the pot to reduce the chance of clematis wilt and if it is in a sunny position try to shade the roots to stop them getting hot and dry. Make the most of the good weather and get out to visit gardens, it is the best way to see what does, and doesn't, work before you try things in your own garden. Happy gardening, Luke.

“Village of the Year” Competition Stradbroke Parish Council has submitted an entry to the Suffolk Village of the Year Competition and the judging will take place the week beginning 7th June. This will involve an assessment of our application and supporting documentation, together with a visit to the village (date to be advised) to see things ”as they are”. We want to put on a good show so please, if you see anything that could be detrimental to our case, let the parish clerk, Carol Smy (Tel: 01379 384679), know a.s.a.p. and we will try to get it sorted out. It would also be very helpful if people involved in the many and varied activities that go on in the village, could meet the judges and tell them about their group and how it benefits the community. As soon as we know the date and time of the visit we will phone around and let groups know. Stradbroke has a wide and varied range of community activities and a great community spirit so let’s show the judges what a great place Stradbroke is! If you would like to see full details of our entry, a copy is available at the Library and on the Village Website - stradbroke.org.uk Stradbroke Parish Council

Letters to the Editors “Many thanks to all the collectors and those who gave to the Lifeboat collection. The sum collected was £201. Thank you to all of you. Angela McCann” “On behalf of Stradbroke Youth FC I would like to thank all the sponsors of my Bungay Half Marathon attempt. It was a beautiful sunny day for the event in which 600 runners ran, jogged and in some cases walked the 13.1 mile circuit from Bungay to Beccles and back. Over 50 sponsors pledged a little over £400 for the football club, which demonstrates the strong support for the Club and the players. For the record, I finished in a respectable 1hr 48min (158th). The monies raised will go towards the clubs first football strip. Thank you again to everyone for your contributions. Don Darling” “Uncollected items and prizes I have one painting (spots) at my house from the Art Exhibition which belongs to Mrs Westmscoft from the village. There’s also two raffle prizes which were won by M Bensly and M Cox which are at Pump Cottage ready for collection. Many thanks, Mary Ellis”
