On behalf of the Mini/Junior Section I would like to welcome you all to the annual Hinckley Rugby Club Festival. Rugby is a passion shared by many at the club and I know the children of all age groups enjoy the challenge and camaraderie of our great sport as well as rise to the challenge that such events bring. I would like to take this opportunity to thank all the organisers and volunteers who have put so much time and effort into making today, what I’m sure will be a huge success. Their hard work is appreciated by all at the club and I’m sure all of you as well. Thanks also to all the coaches and managers who give their time freely with passion and commitment. Finally, thank you to all Parents, Grandparents, Aunts and Uncles for the times that you have stood standing in the pouring rain, freezing conditions and howling windy days, for watching your children, wishing they had taken up warmer indoor sports! Today is when we all enjoy the efforts, however please be mindful that whilst we all encourage competition, we ask that you follow the festival code enabling all to enjoy the game. In particular, may we remind all players, parents and coaches to respect the referees and the decisions they make, they are all volunteers and human!! So, to all of you taking part today, please give the organisers and volunteers your full support and co-operation and let’s all enjoy the day. Encourage good play and support your team in victory and in defeat and remember that abuse and foul language has no place in the game of Rugby. Hinckley Mini-Rugby Festival 8th April 2018 Child Welfare Everyone is reminded of his or her responsibilities regarding child welfare. Any concerns or issues should be reported to Hinckley Welfare officer, Jason Reid on 07701 021721 or the club house on 01455 615010. Photographs Parents wishing to take photographs will need to complete Photography Registration Forms in the new Clubhouse prior to the festival commencing. First Aid Medical / First Aid services will be provided but clubs should also provide first aid support if possible.
Refreshments Food and drink will be available in and around the new clubhouse from 09.30am. Toilets Toilets are available at both ends of the clubhouse. Unfortunately no changing rooms will be available. Toilets will be signed on the day. No Dog Policy Hinckley RFC is now a “dog free” zone, except on the public bridleway, on a lead. Please ensure that no dogs (except guide dogs) are brought onto or near the playing fields. Litter Please help our volunteers to reduce the amount of time cleaning up by using the litter bins provided around the site. Raffle A raffle will be held on the day, all prizes will be available to collect from the clubhouse. Please check prior to leaving to see if you are a winner. Pitches Please remain behind ropes or barriers marking pitch boundaries, in the interest of player safety, and good visibility of fellow supporters. Bar A full bar is open in the New Clubhouse. Festival Rules 1.
All games will be played in accordance with the current rules of the English Rugby Football Union. All age groups play to their respective “new rules of play� and transitional contact. Festival principles in line with the latest AGR implementation from 1st September 2016.

It is the responsibility of participating clubs that all players have current RFU registration cards to ensure that insurance requirements are met. Registration cards may be inspected at registration. Challenges regarding the eligibility of any player on the grounds of age must be made by team officials before the start of any game and if that player is unable to provide a definitive proof of age, he/she must be withdrawn for the rest of the festival.

Participants are reminded of their responsibilities with regard to child welfare. If at any time they believe that child welfare might be compromised they should immediately advise the festival control point. Recorded images (photos, videos etc) may only be taken during the festival using equipment certified under the HRFC photography policy. A facility to do this will be available at the control point.

Squad and player numbers for each age group are as follows: Under 7 Team of 4 Squad of 8 Under 8 Team of 6 Squad of 10 Under 9 Team of 7 Squad of 11 Under 10 Team of 8 Squad of 13 Under 11 Team of 9 Squad of 14 Under 12 Team of 12 Squad of 18

Match duration will be as follows: Under 7s 5 minutes each way, maximum of 5 games = 50 minutes (total playing time) Under 8s 6 minutes each way, maximum of 4 games = 48 minutes (total playing time) Under 9s 5 minutes each way, maximum of 6 games = 60 minutes (total playing time) Under 10s 6 minutes each way, maximum of 5 games = 60 minutes (total playing time) Under 11s 7 minutes each way, maximum of 5 games = 70 minutes (total playing time) Under 12s 5 minutes each way, maximum of 7 games = 70 minutes (total playing time)

6. All teams will be required to provide a referee for the matches indicated in the programme/running order and in line with RFU guidelines, these referees should have attended an appropriate course. All current RFU regulations for age grade rules shall be followed.
7. HRFC Festival will be played according to the new RFU age grade rugby regulations. There will be no overall winner.
8. Substitutions will be allowed as follows: Under 7/8/9/10/11/12s 9.
Unlimited rolling basis
Reconciliation of any disputes arising during the festival will be determined by the HRFC Mini’s and Junior’s Chairman whose decision will be final.
