The year is well underway and the Surrey editors are thrilled with the early success of www.tfgsurrey.co.uk. So please do visit the website and if you would like to add your own events to our calendar, just sign in as a member (very simple and no strings attached!) and follow the instructions. The Family Grapevine printed publication focuses on being a free local phonebook of services for families, concentrating on antenatal18 years. A proportion of the entries give contact numbers for help and support in specialist areas, which can be difficult and time consuming to source for the average busy family. The line entries - and indeed the adverts - are sufficiently varied to encompass the wide needs of a modern family. The saying goes...you get what you pay for! But in The Family Grapevine you get something you do not have to pay for. FREE line entries. That is FREE advertising for your business or group. You must work or run the group in the area covered by this publication and the content must be pertinent to one or more of the published categories. If you aren’t sure if you can have an entry, please contact me anyway to discuss it. Advertising in The Family Grapevine is very good value and very easy! Holiday Activities and Family Events are on pages 19-21 and there will be more on www.tfgsurrey.co.uk Surrey County Council run various interesting campaigns which you will have seen advertised in the ‘Grapevine’ in the last few issues. The current campaign is ‘Composting’ (page 4). Not interested...? It’s no different to the type of recycling we are all getting used to and something all families should be conscious of. Our children will learn by example and I doubt there are many (of all ages) who wouldn’t be fasinated by all the goings-on underneath that pile of rotting food waste! Spring issue competition winners Dad’s Day Out, at the home of ‘Top Gear’, was won by the Hunter family in the Guildford area. Congratulations. From The Children’s Trust/Dads Day Out event organisers. ‘Thank you so much, the advert helped generate so much interest in the event and many people booked tickets as a result. The event was a great success and we really appreciate your support. I very much hope we can work together again in the future. Many thanks, Ruth and Zoe, The Children’s Trust, Tadworth.’ From the winner of ‘Dads Day Out’ who won the same competition in another ‘Grapevine’ area. ‘Thank you to The Family Grapevine and The Children’s Trust for a brilliant day at the Dad’s Day Out. The prize of the Caterham Seven ride was definitely an experience for my partner, doing skid after skid on the track. Then my boys had the thrill of their lives having a top speed ride in a Ferrari around the Top Gear track. With motorbike stunt displays, helicopter rides and lots of firemen in uniform :-) it was a terrific day out for the whole family. Thank you.’

GuilFest is an independent music and arts festival held in the beautiful surroundings of Stoke Park, Guildford. This year, the festival takes place over the weekend of the 15th, 16th and 17th of July. Famed for its fantastically eclectic line ups and fun and friendly atmosphere, GuilFest offers a weekend of great live musical entertainment set across 8 stages, crossing all genres – there really is something for everyone! As well as live music, there is comedy, theatre, arts and crafts, all sorts of other entertainment including Ceroc Dancing, and brand new for this year, the GuilFest Vintage Fayre.
