A bit about Teddies in Loving Care…

TLC (East Kent) is the local branch of a national charity which provides teddy bears to hospital A&E wards and minor injury units throughout East Kent. Teddies are supplied in bulk and medical staff give them to children admitted to the unit that may be in distress over their injuries or over the treatment they are about to receive. The charity relies entirely on volunteers to fund the purchase of the bears and then distribute them to the emergency units. The volunteers are East Kent Freemasons along with their friends and families. £18,000 each year is required to enable the charity to continue its work.

Success comes from working together.

If you want to be informed then you’re in the right place. Your local business networking group spends a lot of time making sure that the speakers that we present every month are top quality. With interesting topics that could make a difference to your knowledge. The next two speakers are exactly that. Tuesday 2 May. The Dog & Bear Hotel in Lenham. A special visit from Kevin Collier, open to all, to provide more information about getting older in todays society, for business people and others. Wrinkly launched in Lenham and is an organisation which aims to join the dots with care for the elderly and vulnerable across Kent. We do this in many ways. They host events for the general public where we invite providers of services to community halls and events. They hold afternoon tea parties where people can get together and chat about what is going on. They organise networking events for everyone working in the elderly and vulnerable sector. These networking events are not just for carers and care homes but plumbers, electricians, accountants, clothing designers, therapists and anyone who wants to get to know other providers in their area. We want to make the lives of our elderly and vulnerable clients full of joy and laughter not isolation and loneliness. Pic Kelly Duke of The Wrinkly Roadshow. Wednesday 31 May with South Maidstone Business Association at The Weald of Kent Golf Club in Headcorn. “An Employers Guide to Apprenticeships MidKent College is a significant provider of Apprenticeship training and currently supports over 900 apprentices located in businesses across the region.
