Here are some great ideas for handmade decorations, presents and activities for all the family

Feeding Winter Birds You will need:

Lard or other hard fat. A selection of wild bird food, seeds, peanuts, bread & cake crumbs, chopped bacon rind. Halves of empty orange skins, ﬁr cones etc.

Instructions:

1. Soften the lard or fat in a warm place, place in a bowl and mix in the seeds, nuts, crumbs etc. 2. Puncture holes on opposite sides of the orange skins and thread a length of string through each hole, knotted on the inside and tied at the top for hanging or tie string around the fir cones 3. Press the mixture into the fir cones or fill the orange skins and place in the fridge until set.

Taster Sessions Available Rehearsals start January 2020 New Youth Theatre is extremely pleased to announce that their next senior production will be a “Footloose The Musical”. Rehearsals will begin in January and the show will be staged at the Palace Theatre Mansfield on the 17th & 18th March 2020. Footloose is a classic tale of teen rebellion and repression. When teenager Ren and his family move from big-city Chicago to a small town in the West, he’s in for a real case of culture shock. Though he tries hard to fit in, the streetwise Ren can’t quite believe he’s living in a place where rock music and dancing are illegal. However, he soon falls for Ariel, a beautiful girl with a jealous boyfriend and a biblethumping minister as her father. With Prom coming up, Ren decides to challenge the dance and music ban and revitalise the spirit of the repressed townspeople. Footloose explodes onto the stage with classic 80’s anthems including “Holding out for a Hero”, “Almost Paradise”, “Let’s hear it for the Boy” and of course the title track “Footloose”. There’s just no stopping the music! The New Youth Theatre concept is simple. Children between the ages of 3-17 years are taught how to develop and improve their performing arts skills whilst rehearsing for a fully staged musical each term. Taster Sessions are available.
