MP announces Rs 5 cr for tehsil that gives lead

BJP Rajya Sabha MP Dhananjay Mahadik has announced in Kolhapur that he will give Rs 5 crore to the tehsil that gives lead to Sanjay Mandlik, Shiv Sena’s Lok Sabha candidate from Kolhapur. Mandlik is contesting against Congress’s Shahu Maharaj Chhatrapati. Opposition Shiv Sena – UBT Rajya Sabha MP Sanjay Raut has slammed Mahadik for his announcement and said that it is in violation of the model code of conduct. Mahadik, however, said that he has not said anything wrong.

BJP deploys Wagh to cover Mungantiwar slip up

The BJP has swung into damage control mode after its candidate from Chandrapur and minister Sudhir Mungantiwar’s alleged derogatory remarks on brother-sister relationship. To ensure women voters don’t drift away from party, the BJP has fielded state BJP women president Chitra Wagh to campaign in Chandrapur. The minister made the remarks at a rally by Prime Minister Narendra Modi on April 8 that evoked sharp reactions from Congress, which has fielded Pratibha Dhanorkar, widow of late leader Balu Dhanorkar who won in 2019, as its candidate.
