Inspirational Award 2022

Congratulations to Bella for being awarded our Inspirational Award for the 2021/22 academic year! Throughout her HCPS journey, Bella has embraced everything school life has had to offer, whilst consistently demonstrating an enthusiastic approach to school sport and being an excellent role model to all ages across the whole school.


Under 8's Primary Panathlon Festival

On Wednesday 6th July 2022, we entered a team into the Under 8's Primary Panathlon Festival at Ipswich School Sports Centre. A panathlon is made up of a series of different events testing the pupils' coordination, speed, accuracy and teamwork. The events that our team took part in were as followed: Boocia blast, target throw, basketball shootout, new-age kurling, parachute popcorn, bean bag throw, and bowling. Each of our pupils thoroughly enjoyed themselves throughout the afternoon and performed excellently in their events. As a result of this, our team managed to finish 2nd overall. The team were awarded certificates, t-shirts, runners-up medals and a runner-up trophy. Well done to all our Year 2 & 3's that took part!


Under 11's Quadkids Festival

On Tuesday 5th July 2022, Hadleigh competed in the Under 11's Quadkids Festival at Northgate High School. This was the biggest event of the school year as 55 schools took part in total! Each athlete had to compete in 4 different events. The events were as followed: Standing long jump, vortex throw, 600m run and the 75m sprint. Throughout the afternoon, our 10 athletes excelled in all of their events, with 2 of our pupils finishing in the top 4 of highest overall scorers in the whole competition. Because of the amazing resilience and effort from our pupils, Hadleigh managed to finish 2nd overall, our highest place finish since we have taken part in this event 9 years ago. Well done Year 5 & 6, an incredible and memorable achievement.


Under 11's Girls Cricket County Finals

On Tuesday 21st June 2022, our girls team competed in the Under 11’s Girls Cricket County Finals at Ransomes Sports Ground, Ipswich. This was the result of the team winning the Ipswich Schools finals the week before. There were 6 schools that had made it to this stage of the competition. The other 5 teams that competed were St John's, Sidegate, St Mary's Woodbridge, RedOak and Elmswell. During the morning, the girls had to play each of the other competing schools. The girls followed their fine form from last week's Ipswich School festival and played brilliantly, managing to win 4 out of 5 of their matches. This meant they had qualified for the play-offs in the afternoon. Once again, the girls batted, bowled and fielded to a high level and because of this, managed to win both of their play-off matches. This resulted in our girls being crowned the cricket county champions and were awarded medals, t-shirts and the county champions trophy. Well done girls, an amazing achievement!


Under 11's Pyramid Schools Cricket Festival

On Wednesday 15th June 2022, Hadleigh took 2 Year 5 teams to compete in the Under 11’s Pyramid Schools Cricket Festival at Hadleigh Cricket Club. There were 8 schools that took part in total. The other teams were: Bildeston 1, Bildeston 2, Bildeston 3, Elmsett, Beaumont and Whatfield. Hadleigh 1 were placed in League 1 where they managed to win 2 games and lose 1. Hadleigh 2 were placed into League 2 and managed to win 1 game, and lose 2. On what was a very hot afternoon, the boys had a great time batting, bowling and fielding. Once all the league points were added together, the boys then got the opportunity to play in a play-off final for their final standing positions in the competition. Hadleigh 2 played Bildeston 2 and managed to win, therefore finishing the festival in 7th place. Hadleigh 1 played Bildeston 3 and managed to win, therefore finishing the festival in 3rd place. Well done Year 5!


Under 11's Girls Cricket Festival

On Tuesday 14th June 2022, Hadleigh competed in the Under 11’s Girls Cricket Festival at Ransomes Sports Ground, Ipswich. There were 3 schools that took part in total. The other 2 teams that took part were Capel St. Mary's and St. Margaret's. During the morning, the girls batted brilliantly, which was followed up with accurate bowling and some tidy fielding. After an excellent display from the girls all afternoon, Hadleigh managed to win 1 match and draw 1 match. This meant they then had to play in a play-off final which they came out victorious. That victory not only meant they finished overall winners of the competition, but are now through to the County Finals in a week's time. Well done Year 6 girls!


Under 11's Cricket Festival

On Thursday 9th June 2022, Hadleigh competed in the Under 11’s Mixed Cricket Festival at Ransomes Sports Ground, Ipswich. There were 5 schools that took part in total. The other teams were: Britannia, Kyson, Dale Hall and Capel St. Mary's. Over the course of the afternoon, the boys batted brilliantly, which was followed up with accurate bowling and some tidy fielding. After an excellent display from the boys all afternoon, Hadleigh managed to finish runners-up overall which was a fantastic achievement. Well done Year 6!


Under 11's Netball Festival

On Thursday 26th May 2022, Hadleigh took 2 teams to compete in the Under 11's Netball Festival at Ipswich School Sport Centre, Rushmere.. There were 7 schools that competed in total. The other teams were: The Oaks, Sidegate 1, Sidegate 2, Bealings and Britannia. Over the course of the afternoon, both teams played every school across a 10 minute match. This was a High-5 netball festival which meant after every 5 mins, the children would rotate positions on the court, meaning that everybody had the chance to play in defence, centre and in attack. Hadleigh 1 (Light Blue shirts) managed to win 3 games and lose 3 games, resulting in them finishing 5th overall. Hadleigh 2 (Navy shirts) managed to win 5 games and lose just the 1 game, resulting in them finishing 2nd overall. Well done both teams, a fantastic effort!


Under 7's Dodgeball Festival

On Thursday 19th May 2022, we entered 2 teams into the Under 7's Dodgeball Festival at Inspire Suffolk. There were a total of 9 teams that had entered this event. The other 7 teams were: St. Joseph’s College A, St. Joseph’s College B, Heath A, Heath B, Stratford St. Mary's, Clifford Road and St. John's. Throughout the day, the children thoroughly enjoyed every match they played. Hadleigh A managed to win 7 matches and lose just 1 match. Hadleigh B managed to win 6 matches and lose their remaining 2 matches. Each participant was awarded a certificate for their success. Well done to both our year 2 teams!


Under 11's Quadkids Festival

On Friday 13th May 2022, we too a Year 5 team to compete in the Under 11's Quadkids Festival at Hadleigh High School. This was the first time a quadkids event had been organised at the high school which the children were really excited for. There were 4 teams in total that took part. The other 3 schools competing were: Bildeston & Whatfield, Hintlesham and St. Mary's. Each participant took part in a 75 metre dash, a 600 metre run, a standing long jump and a vortex throw. Every pupils' score was recorded and calculate into points for that event. Once every pupil had competed in every event, all the scores were added together. After some excellent performances on the track and field, our Year 5 team managed to finish 1st overall which was fantastic! A great event and one we look forward to taking part in next year. Well done Year 5!


Year 6 Inter-Group Rounders Tournament

During SATS week, Year 6 took part in their annual inter-year group rounders tournament. The year group were split into 6 teams and played competitive matches every afternoon. Well done to all of Year who were a credit to their teachers and the school all week. The results are as followed:

1st Place - The Light Blues - 15 points

2nd Place - The Yellows - 13 points

Joint 3rd Place - The Reds, The Purples & The Blacks - 9 points

4th Place - The Limes - 5 points


Under 9's Tennis Festival

On Friday 29th April 2022, we entered 3 teams into the Under 9's Tennis Festival at Hadleigh High School. There were 6 teams in total that took part. The other 3 schools competing were: Bildeston, Whatfield and Elmsett. There were a total of 15 matches played during the whole morning. Each game lasted approximately 4 minutes. After some excellent on-court performances from all the players, our 3 teams managed to finish 1st, 2nd and 3rd overall. Well done Year 4, an excellent achievement.


Year 4/5/6 Cross Country Festival

On Wednesday 30th March 2022, we took 24 runners to compete in the Year 4, 5 & 6 Cross Country festival at Royal Hospital School. There were around 100 pupils that took part in each of the 6 races. During the afternoon, all of our Year 4 pupils had to run 1600m which was just short of a mile. Our Year 5 & 6 pupils had to run 2200m which was just over a mile long. Every pupil ran fantastically and something they should be proud of! Special mention goes out to 4 of our pupils who managed to finish in the Top 5 of their respected races. Well done Years 4, 5 & 6!


Under 9's Girls Football Festival

On Monday 21st March 2022, Hadleigh CPS entered a Year 3 team and a Year 4 team in the Under 9’s Girls Football Festival at St. Joseph's College. There were a total of 9 teams that took part in the event. Both the Year 3 and Year 4 team played a total of 8 matches against Beeches, Elmsett, St. Joseph's, Claydon, Kingsfleet, The Willows and The Oaks. Both teams played brilliantly throughout the afternoon and had a great time! Our Year 3 team managed to win all 8 of their matches, whilst our Year 4 team managed to win 6 of their 8 matches. This was a fantastic effort from both teams! Afterwards the girls were treated to drinks and cookies for their excellent display for football. Well done girls!


Under 11's Swimming Gala

On Monday 21st March 2022, HCPS took part the Hadleigh Schools Under 11's Swimming Gala at Hadleigh Leisure Centre. There were a total of 7 schools that entered the competition altogether. Each school competed in backstroke, freestyle, breaststroke and relay races. Throughout the morning, the atmosphere that all the children created inside the Leisure Centre was amazing. As a result of our team swimming brilliantly, we managed to place 1st in the whole competition and were awarded the winners trophy. Well done Year 5 & 6!
