Sailing to Add First-Years Meek and Ziskind to 2023-24 Roster

CAMBRIDGE, Mass. – After a strong 2022-23 season on the water for Harvard Sailing, the Crimson will welcome a pair of skippers in their Class of 2027. Head Coach of Harvard Sailing, Michael O'Connor, announces Robby Meek (Annapolis, Maryland) and Zoey Ziskind (Santa Barbara, California) as the teams incoming class. 
 
The pair of decorated skippers will join a squad that is coming off a dominant previous season which ended in four strong National Championship performances.  The Crimson won their first ICSA Open Team Race National Championship since 2003 and is looking to build on their successes in the upcoming season. 
 

Robby Meek | Annapolis, Maryland | Severn School

Skipper for the Severn Sailing Association and the Lauderdale Yacht Club…Served as team captain of the Severn School team…Two-time winner of the Cressy Trophy, being crowned the High School Singlehanded National Champion (2021, 2022)…Member of the 2023 Baker National Championship team with the Severn School…Finished fifth at the 2022 Youth Worlds…2023 Severn School Players Award winner…2022 Severn School Joe Morris Award winner.
 

Zoey Ziskind | Santa Barbara, California | San Marcos High School

Skipper for the Santa Barbara Youth Sailing Foundation…Four-year member of the San Marcos Sailing team…Served as co-captain of the San Marcos Sailing team…Two-time SBYSF top women's skipper (2021, 2022)… Placed first at the 2022 PCISA Girls National Invitational…Finished second at the 2022 C420 South Shore Championship…Finished fourth at the 2022 C420 Midwinters Championship…Placed fourth at the 2022 C420 Triple Crown Series…Placed third at the 2020 US Sailing Junior Single-Handed Championship…Won 2018 US Sailing Women's Double-Handed Championship…Both mother (Heidi) and father (Jon) sailed at the University of Rhode Island…Father was a pro sailor and competed in the America's Cup and the Match Racing World Tour.
