Colla named Big South Player of the Week

BUIES CREEK, N.C. - Sarah Colla was tabbed the Big South Player of the Week after helping Campbell grab the top spot in the league standings. She shined in both the five-set win over NC A&T and the straight set win over High Point.

Colla posted a big all-around performance against A&T on Friday with 15 kills, five digs and five blocks. She did so on .323 hitting across the five-set win. The Carlsbad, Calif. native bounced back on Saturday with a match-high 12 kills on .348 hitting while posting five more blocks to take down previously undefeated (in league play) HPU. Five blocks marked a new season-high for the senior, and 12 kills was her most in a three-set match since Feb. 12, 2021 against UNC Asheville.

This is Colla's first Player of the Week award since Nov. 4, 2019 and the third of her career. She joins Chloe Cook as the other Camel to win Player of the Week this season.

The Fighting Camels will be on the road this weekend for matches at USC Upstate and UNC Asheville. Friday's is slated to start at 6 p.m. and to be streamed on ESPN+.
