Kingfishers Gym – Boracay, Philippines

Being stuck on the beautiful island of Boracay is no excuse not to get training. Tucked away behind station 3 is Kingfishers gym, hidden in amongst a small resort and between some houses and just off the main road (not there is is many roads) but its, not on the main beach or part of any of the fancy resorts.

Not a pretty gym by any means and extremely cramped, every old-school free weight you could think of is lying on the floor, old cable machines and accessories machines squeezed tightly to utilise every inch of space.

Mainly locals that use this gym and think I was the only westerner there for the week using the gym. Pay your money at the door and get full use of the facilities. The gym has small space for stretching yoga etc, dumbbells up to around 40kg although very old and scattered everywhere, squat rack, hack squat, cable machines and many other old outdated machines. It’s not glamorous by any means but it gets the job done and the staff are friendly enough. You can also buy protein shakes from the gym or a small shop just down the path beside the entrance.
