Dogs love to sniff and explore, so we walk our dogs in many different places. If you want to take your dog for a walk, here are some of the places we recommend!
Canvey Heights Country Park
Large open fields, great for retrieving and playing. The entrance is near Kings Caravan Park, simply follow the road and there is a small car park near the lake.
Canvey Beach
This part of Canvey Beach allows dogs all times of the year. On the map below is a small car park, where we set off from. The beach is great for allowing dogs to swim, retrieve, and play in the water!
Hockley Woods
Hockley woods is great for letting dogs off lead to explore the woods. The car park has a small parking fee.
Edwards Hall
Edwards hall has a little bit of everything. Woods, rivers, and fields. At the end of Bosworth Road is a small car park, that leads to a wonderful walk!
Sweyne Park
Along Downhall Park Way there is a small car park that grants access to this walk. With lots of fields and routes to explore, we love taking our dogs here.
Overton Park
Overton is a small enclosed field, and so is great for letting puppies and dogs off lead for the first time. There is no car park here, but there is access to the field at Overton Drive, Seamore Close, and Rushbotttom Lane.
Benfleet Path
Benfleet Path is along the edge of Two tree Island, and is great for nervous owners and dogs, as you can see everything around. It is also a nice quiet walk, with water and farmland. If you want to join us on this walk, we meet in the car park on the bend (shown by the pin below!) – don’t cross over the bridge!
Westwood
Westwood is a woody route, with water, trees, and squirrels! There is lots to sniff and smell here, and a fun place to explore. We meet on Westbourne Close, but please be aware there is no car park and this is a residential road.
Woodside
Woodside is a lovely walk, with four fields, some woods, and a lake. We start our walk just near the Benfleet Cricket & Social Club and park in the small car park opposite.
Chalkwell Esplanade
We like to walk along the Chalkwall esplanade to let our dogs sniff and meet lots of people. We often do this as a lead walk, to let our dogs learn to walk nicely on lead. We start our walk at the pin on the map below.
Hadleigh Park
Hadleigh park is a great walk, with hills, woods, and many routes to explore. At the bottom of Chapel Lane is a large car park, where we start our walks.
Wat Tyler
The Wat Tyler walk is perfect for all dogs, with the new gravel paths and areas to play. It has 3 car parks, but we most often start our walks at in the 3rd car park by the Wat Tyler Centre.
Spencer Road
Whilst we love to let our dogs enjoy all the experiences of an off lead walk, sometimes we like to do on lead walks, where they can practice meeting and greeting other dogs, walking nicely across roads, and many other useful things! We like to start our walk at this junction, right near our office.
Little Havens
A quiet walk with an enclosed fields and some shade. We park at the top of Thorington Avenue, and walk across Daws Heath Road to the Little Havens entrance, which is located opposite a convenience store.
Rawreth Fields
Rawreth Fields are lined with tress, providing doggies some shade, smells, and a large space to play. There is a small car park just before the Rayleigh Cricket Club, which is where we park.
Two Tree Island
Two Tree Island is a large open space, with lots of grass, smells, and water! We park in the first car park on the left when you go over the bridge, and meet at the furthest end of the car park.
