Bowling Party Creates New Memories for Greater Chester Families

A night at the bowling alley, with pizza and snacks and lots of cheering as the ball rolls down the lane… something every child should experience, right? Unfortunately, for those facing economic hardship, this type of family fun may not easily be in reach.

Inspired by a night out with her own family in July, Caitlyn Kennedy of Wallingford, PA approached Chester Upland Youth Soccer/Youth Development United with an offer to help make such experiences possible for all.

A quick survey of CUYS/YDU families showed great interest in a bowling night. So, this week, we held not one, but two bowling parties. Everyone in attendance took home a care package filled with toiletries, groceries and toys to enjoy together back at home, plus leftovers from our pizza and taco buffets.

The Kennedy family compiled and distributed the care packages, and fully participated in the party with their new friends from Greater Chester. ““We enjoyed meeting new people and introducing some of the younger attendees to bowling for the first time. We look forward to future events,” said Caity.

Appreciating the popularity of these successful events, Youth Development United has booked three more bowling parties for the coming months, with hopes to continue the program indefinitely as it helps families to have active fun together. Please help support us in making such memorable occasions happen.
