Our Mindful Sport for young people activities started again on 8th January following the Christmas break, we look forward to welcoming old and new participants to our fun, social and inclusive sessions. The sessions run every Tuesday at the John Bunyan Sports & Fitness Centre, Mile Road, Bedford, with activities including Yoga (4-5pm), Table Tennis (4.30-5.30pm) and Badminton (4.30-5.30pm).
Qualified coaches and leaders are on hand to support each session and ensure fun is had by all, so come and join us!
The Young Minds programme aims to improve young people’s mental wellbeing through fun and social physical activity sessions, with CAMHS staff on hand to offer support to both participants and parents. For more information please visit our website.

The Bedfordshire and Luton Recovery College prospectus for January - April 2019 is now out. The College is part of the Bedfordshire and Luton Mental Health Academy, a formal partnership service in collaboration with the East London Foundation Trust and The University of Bedfordshire. The College offers a wide range of free courses and workshops which are recovery focused and aim to provide strategies and techniques people can use in their everyday lives to aid wellbeing and mental health. The majority of the courses offered are co-produced with Peer Tutors and all takes place within a non-judgemental environment. Rotary Clubs in the Bedford and Leighton Buzzard areas, together with Milton Keynes Dons, Bedford Borough Council and Push4it are organising a Celebration of Disability Sport in Riverside Square, Bedford on Saturday 25th May 2019.
The whole area will be devoted throughout the day to demonstrations, come and try activities and the provision of information by relevant organisations. It is aimed at both people with disabilities as well as the able bodied. It is anticipated that many top sportspeople will be attending to offer advice and show off their skills.
This is an opportunity not to be missed for any club or organisation that offers sport and physical recreation for those with disabilities to enhance the public’s awareness of what is available to help develop their skills and abilities.
There will be an arena (max size 25m x 15m), spaces for gazebos or similar, and other small areas around the square. There will also be a stage or similar for performances – dance, singing etc.
Planning for the event has commenced and we are seeking 'expressions of interest' from sports clubs / organisations in being involved in the event.
