Bridgwater and Albion RFC 21 – Teignmouth RFC 55
Bridgwater remain bottom of the table after being beaten by a Teignmouth side who scored nine tries to run out the deserved winners.
After beating fellow strugglers Sherborne at College Way last Friday evening there were hopes that Bridgwater would repeat this result and lift themselves off the basement. However, in the circumstances a side that showed a number of changes either through injury or unavailability from that side were found wanting.
Teignmouth made their intentions clear from the off and within minutes of the start the visitors had taken the lead with a try from Jack Bond that was converted by Jack Mayne.
The Devon side continued on the attack, but on each occasion the Bridgwater defence remained resolute and the danger was cleared.
Bridgwater bounce back
After 20 minutes Bridgwater mounted their first serious threat, and a rolling maul took the hosts deep into Teignmouth territory. The visitors cleared the danger and kicked to touch. From the ensuing line out, the ball was collected by Jack Perry. He then went over for a try which Taylor Buller converted to level the scores.
Bridgwater hardly had time to regroup before Teignmouth came straight back and regained the lead. Mayne scored a try, making the score 7-12.
Three minutes last a blistering run by Teignmouth winger Bond cut through the home defence before touching down for a try. Mayne then converted.

The visitors continued in the ascendancy. Shortly before the interval Bond went over for his third try, making the score 24-7 at the break.
Bridgwater came out strongly after half time and created pressure on the Teignmouth line. Despite their best endeavours the visitors defence rode out the storm.
Shorty afterwards the hosts found themselves reduced to 14 players when Karolis Urbonas was yellow carded,.
Immediately Teignmouth took the upper hand and in the course of the next 15 minutes they ran in four tries. Two of which were converted to take the score to 48-7.

The visitors then had two players yellow carded in quick succession and during their absence Bridgwater took full advantage of their numerical advantage. Soon afterwards George Sluman went over for a try that was converted by Taylor Buller.
The hosts kept up the pressure on the Teignmouth defence and five minutes later Jordan Buller scored a try. Taylor Buller converted to reduce the arrears.
With their numbers fully restored Teignmouth brought up the half century when Rio Cooper broke free from some way out. He then ran to the line to score a try which he then converted to make the final score 55-21.
