Statement
Greetings CI Community,
My name is Nathan Altman and I am running for a senator position next school year. I am majoring in political science. I chose political science because I believe it is an application of philosophy and it can help me control my life. This means that I will know where to put my best efforts in and where not to, making me specialize in certain areas rather than others. This is an advantage because I was the Senator of Social Justice for the year 2015-2016 and I knew Social Justice issues more than Sustainability or any other areas. I am a resourceful person, my ability as the Chair of the Senate Internal Affairs Committee proves it. I was appointed to lead the discussion to fix the loopholes and inconsistencies with a flawed group. I was appointed as chair because none of the other senators saw themselves as fit and I know how to make arguments and papers logical, so they chose me. I was able to calm down the discussions and lead the conversations away from ramblings. Another event where I was resourceful was helping the Slutwalk. There were a limited amount of shirts, probably about 60 shirts which I assumed that all will be taken, so I told one of the people from Student Government to get the It’s On Us shirts to hand out as well so people won’t be very sad. When people didn’t get the Slutwalk shirts, they got the It’s On Us shirts and were still happy that they got a shirt. If I am elected I plan on help creating new Noon Forums and a new way of promoting the It’s On Us campaign. If I am elected to the Senate then I will do a better job than I am right now.

- Inform students on current issues
- Ex: Noon Forums, fliers on current issues like a new disease

- Have new ways of promoting the It’s On Us Campaign
- Make a new video
- Have new or more promo items(ex.: shirts, pens, a banner)
- Try to create a flyer
- Information Includes transportation services, Mental Health Services, and other services on campus related to Social Justice

- Help make a lot of A-Frames for SG related Events
- Leader for my Confirmation group(2012-2014)
- Lead teenagers to live a life like Jesus Christ
- Taught teenagers how to practice their faith in their daily lives
- Taught them it is ok to express your feelings and thoughts even if they get made fun of
