OFFICIAL MATCHDAY PROGRAMME

SATURDAY 22nd JUNE 2019 – 2.30PM

VIEW FROM THE CHAIR

I would like to welcome Hunslet Club Parkside to West Hull
Community Club today for this League match because of
match postponements we shall be travelling to Hunslet next
weekend.

Last weekend we travelled to Wath Brow where we came out
winners 30 points to 20 it was a nail biting encounter as just
after half time we were 20 – 6 behind but the lads dug deep
and put on one of the finest displays of amateur rugby to
return home worthy winners.

At Youth and Junior level we have four fixtures at home
tomorrow when the U11 play Cottingham and the U12s play
Hull Wyke both at 10.15 and the U16s play Lock Lane at 11.30
At 1 pm the U14s take on Rylands in their semi-final of the
BARLA National Cup! – there is certainly a feast of rugby league
at West Hull this weekend!

We lie in the top position of the Premier Division at present –
Wath Brow just below us and we have a match in hand today’s
opposition are in third place!

See you in the Clubhouse after the game!

LAST TIME OUT – WEST HULL

WEST HULL 16 SIDDAL 8
Wests began a three game home run with a hard fought
victory over Siddal but lost the top spot to Wath Brow who
had a 72 – 0 victory over Thornhill.
West Hull have had some great battles with their, opponents
and their match last weekend was no exception

LAST TIME OUT - VISITORS

HUNSLET PARKSIDE 18 KELLS 6
Hunslet disposed of bottom side Kells in a largely defensive
clash! Kells hanging on to their Premier position with a try from
Lewis Smith converted by Cam Taylor – Michael Nuttall scoring
for Hunslet at the oranges!
The reigning champions defences were on top for the second
half with tries from Craig Miles, Ben Shulver and Omar Alawi -
Craig McShane was Man of the Match.

MARK’S MUSINGS

Last week we had a great win over our old adversaries Wath Brow
even Ian Rooney complimented us on our last half hour of rugby it’s
always hard to come away with the spoils from Cumbria because of
the length of the journey!
Training is going well but with the holiday season upon us and injuries
team selection is always a headache but we will always have a team to
go on the pitch as we have strength in depth!
See you in the Clubhouse - Hewbo

COL’S QUIPS

Welcome to all the opposition today for this important fixture. Had
a great weekend last week when we travelled to Wath Brow and
were worthy winners – maintaining our unbeaten record in the
Conference.
A busy weekend is expected this weekend as there is a football
tournament lasting Saturday and Sunday and four youth matches
tomorrow!
I shall not be there I shall be watching the Mighty Hull FC in Catalan
– enjoy the game I shall certainly enjoy my weekend!
Cheers - Col

CONFERENCE ROUND UP

WATH BROW overtook previous leaders WEST HULL with a
whopping 72 – 0 victory over THORNHILL TROJANS. Did the
Bank Holiday have a bearing on this freak result?

The same didn’t happen at WEST HULL as visitors Siddal
pushed the joint Conference leaders all the way – Wests
coming out on top 16 – 8.

ROCHDALE MAYFIELD who have been severely affected by the
defection of coach Matt Calland to professional out Rochdale
Hornets lost at home to THATTO HEATH going down by 34
points to 6.

Short report this week because of the Bank holiday last
weekend.
