AFC Ewell Tigers got off to a disappointing start to the season with a late 2-1 defeat to Croygas Phoenix on the opening Weekend of the Division 7 league. The Tigers started the game well pressing from the kick off and dominating the first 15 minutes. mid way through the first half Forward Andy Davis went on an impressive run traveling from his own half into the oppositions penalty area before being brought down hard giving Nick Bell the opportunity to score from the penalty spot and score his and the Tigers first goal of the season. 1-0 Tigers. as the first half went on the tigers created more chances, with a Header from Tyler Martin just going wide of the far post and a well saved free kick from Brad Curling. the second half started alot more evenly with Croygas having the majority of possession. 10 minutes into the second half Croygas struck back with a well placed finish from the right wing back. 1-1. with about 5 minutes left a fortunate flick from a corner allow Croygas the chance to take the lead and leave the tigers a lot to do with very little time left. with very little time left the tigers managed to create several chances to grab a late draw with a shot being cleared off the line and the keeper reading a header from the 6 yard box well to hold on for a 2-1 win and the tigers were left disappointed on the opening day. many positives to take from the game as some of the football shown indicates potentiality a good season ahead for the tigers, MOTM - Brad Curling. 

AFC Ewell Tigers got there first win of the season in a 10 goal thriller against Leatherhead Galacticos on sunday morning. Ewell started the better side and were awarded a penalty when Andy Davis was bundled over in the box by the Leatherhead goal keeper giving Nick Bell the chance to slot away his second penalty and second goal of the season . 1-0 the lead was then extended when a chipped ball to the back post from Nathan Chambers curled and found its way into the oppositions net deservedly now 2-0. it got better for the Tigers when another clumsy tackle in the box by the opposition gave Jay Hudson the chance to calmly put the Tigers 3-0 up after just 15 minutes. Jay soon turned provider as a well weighted through ball gave Andy Davis the chance to make it 4-0 as he audaciously chipped the ball over the on coming opposition goal keeper to make it 4-0 and score his first goal of the season. as the first half came to an end, the Tigers began to get complaisant giving Leatherhead hope who then fought back to score 3 quick fire goals in about 6 minutes to make the game very much alive. as half time drew to a close. a scuffle in the box  allowed Centre back Tyler Martin the chance to prod home from close range to make it 5-3 going into the break. as the second half began it started evenly with both sides trying to find the next big goal in the game. about 10 minutes into the second half Leatherhead got it, with an unmarked header in the box from 6 yards out to make it 5-4 the game was back on. but all doubt was ended when a lovely spell of play from the Tigers involving the midfield allow Jamie Dosser Space on the right hand side who perfectly pick out Andy Davis who was able to first time place to ball well in off the post into the bottom corner of the goal. Tigers ran out 6-4 winners in the end and got themselves the perfect three points after a disappointing first game of the season. MOTM - Andy Davis.
