Si Xing Ba Zhang Four Forms Eight Palms

This seminar will teach the Si Xing Ba Zhang—the final circular incarnation of the Xiao Kai Men in the Bagua system. It is composed of 8 Lines to be walked on the Bagua circle. This is one of the foundational forms of the Bagua System and it clearly exemplifies Bagua Jing and cultivation.

Liang Yi Zhang aka “Xiao Kai Men”

This form is passed down from the famous Grandmaster Liu, Yun-Qiao. This form was first taught in Alaska by Master Kurt Wong (Disciple of GM Liu). It is a short form and will be taught in a gentle fashion with the emphasis on breathing and opening the Ming Men—or Life Gate. Good for all ages and levels of interest.

Ba Zhou

Eight Elbows is an advanced form in the Plum Blossom Praying Mantis system. The focus is on short power and close range striking. While designated “high level” it can be a beneficial form to learn earlier on due to its ease of application in the heat of the moment. Elbow technique —obviously— are emphasized.

April 28, 2019- August Bagua “Ying Zhang” Form Workshop coming up.

August 24/25 12:00pm - 4:00pm at the Spenard Recreation Center (see flyer for details). Sifu Kevin Walle will teach the Bagua Ying Zhang “Tight Hand” form. This is an unusual empty-hand Bagua form in that it does not walk the circle as most Bagua forms do. This form is the foundational form for many Bagua paired weapons including Double Hookswords and Double deerhorns. The follow-up Deerhorn form Ziwu Yuan Yang Yue (Meridian Ducks Axes) will be taught in the fall.

Master Kurt Wong is offering 2 workshops this summer. San Tsai Jien (Three Powers Sword) will be from 1:00pm to 3:30pm Saturday and Sunday, June 23 & 24. This will be followed each day by a second workshop, Lan Jie Praying Mantis (Randomly Collected), from 3:30pm to 6:00pm. Both workshops will be held in the Girdwood Community Center.

All students are welcome. A sign-up sheet is posted at the school, or email info@wutanalaska.com to be added to the list.

February 8, 2018 __ New Class: Yang Tai Chi

Wu Tan Alaska is offering a new class. Beginning March 2, 2018, Yang style Tai Chi classes with instructors Sifu Krystal Schott and Leilani Keller will be held on Fridays from 7:30pm to 8:30pm.
