Week commencing 3rd August

The Season has entered the final month again. How time flies. One change we will have next season is a name change for Claytons who will become “Lee Road Bowls Club”
In the Evening League St. Giles lead the way in Section A by 16 Points from Sleaford Town who have 2 games in hand. Moorland Railway are 3rd. At the Bottom Ruston look doomed. Eagle, Boultham Park and Branston are fighting to avoid the drop.
Section B is the closest league with Claytons leading but only 20 points separate them from Norman House in 7th place. In fact Claytons are the only team in this league who are safe from relegation.
Section C leaders Saxilby are already promoted and lead Hykeham by 23 Points. Dunston are 3rd with Brant Road a close 4th. Washingborough B look as if they will be returning to Section D along with Cherry Willingham, Bassingham or North Scarle.
In Section D Leadenham lead from Thorpe on the Hill with Harby 3rd. Bardney with a game in hand are 1 point behind Harby. Any one of the other 4 teams could finish with the Wooden Spoon.
No games were programmed for the Afternoon League this week due to the KO Cup semi-finals being played.
Saxilby playing at home had to give 2 shots to Leadenham and won by 9 shots. They will play Eagle in the Final at Hykeham on Bank Holiday Monday. Eagle and Washingborough drew 49 shots each but Eagle had an 8 shot win due to the Handicap.
