Suffolk Under-17 Silver & Bronze Tournaments
It was a fantastic weekend for Ipswich Badminton Performance Centre players as they dominated the two open Badminton England tournaments winning 9 out of 10 events. Natsha Adins (Essex) and Samuel Nok Chan (Essex) took both singles titles with Anastasiia Ruban (Suffolk) and Amelia Williams (Suffolk) winning both women's doubles events. Samuel paired up with Amelia to win the bronze mixed doubles title and with Kayleigh Williams (Suffolk) to win the silver mixed doubles. Zach Chung (Cambridgeshire) and Freddie Driver (Oxfordshire) prevailed in the open doubles bronze event, whilst Daniel Cook (Suffolk) and Samuel won the open doubles silver.
Whilst this was an excellent tournament for Samuel taking 5 out of 6 titles he entered, Suffolk players also performed very well. The standard of play was high and it was a very enjoyable weekend for all who participated.

Chloe Wins Silver in All England Junior Championships
Congratulations to Chloe Dennis (left) & partner Leona Lee (Hertfordshire) on winning silver medals in the inaugural All England Junior Badminton Championships. The championships were held at Birmingham University from 27th to 30th July.
They reached the final of the girls doubles after beating the number 3 seeds from Estonia in the semi-final. Chloe and Leona lost the first set 21-16 and were 11-6 down in the second set before some great play from both of them turned the match around, winning the second set 21-18. A strong start in the third set let to a final set win of 21-12.
In the final they faced very strong opposition in a Canadian / American pairing who dominated the first set 21-5. There was a good recovery in the second set but ultimately Chloe and Leona lost 21-18.
Congratulations also to Chloe for being selected for the England Under-19 team to play in the Under-19 World Championships in America at the end of September.
