The winners of the second Rudd Awards have been announced at a special ceremony this evening (Friday 17th May), with 19 Ruddington favourites recognised for their contribution to the local community. Organised by registered Community Interest Company, Ruddington Village Community Partnership (RVCP), the 2024 Rudd Awards ceremony took place in St Peter’s Church. Anger has been expressed over the timing of the removal of mature trees at Ruddington’s former Youth & Community Centre site next to The Green. ‘Open Gardens’ Countdown Begins

The organisers of a popular, village weekend – which takes place only every other year – say programmes for this summer’s event are now on sale. Ruddington Open Gardens 2024 is being held on Saturday and Sunday 1st and 2nd June. Coral Closure Confirmed

The owners of Ruddington’s only betting shop say it has shut for good. Villagers noticed late last month that Coral Bookmakers at Unit 2 High Street was dark and empty – after previously being open for business throughout the year, seven days a week, other than on Christmas Day. Country Park Parking Price Hike

Visitors who travel to Ruddington’s country park by car are being warned about substantial increases to the parking charges there this month. Following removal of the previous £1 all-day rate, from Wednesday 1st May 2024 those using the official parking at Rushcliffe Country Park now have to pay £1.50 to stay up to three hours and £3 hours to stay any longer than that. Methodist Church Closure Threat

The Minister of Ruddington Methodist Church has confirmed that the future of their historic, village centre building is in doubt due to the rising cost of maintaining it.
