Member of the British Kendo Association

Reading Kendo Club is a member of the British Kendo Association and provides a friendly environment in which to practise the art of kendo. The club is led by John O'Sullivan sensei (6th Dan)

The club meets weekly at Kendrick School Sports Hall in Reading, Berkshire within easy reach of neighbouring towns such as Maidenhead, Windsor, Bracknell, Henley, Wokingham, Newbury. Sessions run from 8:00pm until 10:00pm on Tuesdays and cover many aspects of kendo training in a varied format. We have the use of a large hall and the club has ample capacity for visitors who are always welcome. Training is followed by a relaxing post-keiko de-brief at the nearby Great Expectations Hotel and again, all are welcome.

Reading Kendo Club has close links with Mytchett Kendo Club, Surrey (also led by O'Sullivan sensei). Mytchett Kendo club practice on Thursdays and many members practice at both clubs.

Reading Kendo Club hosted the Sir Frank Bowden/Premiers' Cup weekends in 2009 and 2010.

The club also hosted the Chiba sensei seminar in December '08 and is proud to be hosting the Chiba Sensei/Tatsuyo sensei seminar on 03/04 July 2010. (See the BKA website for more details).
